The Mark Levinson No585!
So...I tend to think of ML, as a "dead" brand; at least on life-support. Which is a shame...because as a kid, reading Stereo Review; I lusted after the Phase Linear and MLs, that always seem to pop-up on the cover.
But a dealer friend of mine, brought this to my attention today.
Hate to keep putting it this way; because there's "looks good"..."looks like it sounds good", and "sounds good". But this at least looks, sexy as hell!
It's $12k; same ballpark as the NuVista 800, yes? Anyone had the pleasure?

Oh...and it's digital; DAC and IA in one.CD

If anyone is interested in one, PM me. I know a friend trying to sell his BNIB one.
I heard this at TAVES. It's a beast. Sounded great on the big JBL's.My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: The Mark Levinson No585!
Chris, I haven't seen or heard the new ML 585. Guess it's time to go see a ML dealer. I am a fan of Mark Levinson gear, at least for what it has done for my listening enjoyment

Not sure how it sounds, but it looks in a different world than the Nu Vista 800.
Looks excellent
sort of a review here - sounds like the complete opposite of the old 383 integrated

Re: The Mark Levinson No585!
The Mark Levinson 585 is a very serious "comeback" offering a high level of performance and flexibility at a relatively affordable price level. Our unit has been on display for approx. a month, and has been very favourably reviewed in our local magazine Hifi & Musik recently.

Could someone comment the quality of the integrated DAC ? Is it as good as a stand alone DAC ? is it ROON ready ?

Still love the the look of ML. I don't know if things are as good as the Madrigal days but I have fond memories of that generation and the ML33H monoblocks.

Reviving an old thread. Does anyone have experience with the ML 585.5 integrated amp?

Re: The Mark Levinson No585!
I have heard it, it's been a while. Sounded good with the salons. It didn't drive the Salons like a separate amp though as can be expected. We didn't have a chance to compare it t any other integrated amps. I feel it's a solid contender in it's price.
If you didn't need a lot of power the amp I like is the 5805. The digital section is updated from the 585, speaking to features. This integrated amp sounds great though. I was impressed with it.Aurender ACS10 w/Audioquest Diamond USB, Esoteric N05xd

Thank you for making me feel less tech challenged.:whew: FYI, The 866 works great as a straight, no nonsense integrated with DAC.
