I've been swapping gear around, like usual. This morning I put my Job INTegrated back on my Strads. I just love that piece.

I use a modified Wyred 4 Sound Sonos to feed the digital RCA spdif input. It took a bit to open up and relax after being on the sidelines for a while, but man oh man, I would not feel the least bit deprived to use this as my only stereo amp. I love it that much. It puts many pieces to shame.

I still want the Job 250 monos and maybe as a birthday or Christmas present to myself, I'll finally order a pair and get it out of my system.

Proper speaker matching is crucial with this amp, but once you find the right speaker (preferable on the warmer side of neutral, just like the Sonus faber) - it is one hell of an amp. Relly hard to beat.

Thank you Adam. Absolutely. It's great on my JBL's too. I just can't believe, for $1699 delivered, how well it performs.

Joe, I was beginning to think you were off your rocker with the NERD, I mean, Nord amp love, but with the JOB amp and integrated you've been spot on.

On the right speakers, Nord can be great too. System matching is key.

I'd try and look for something with 10-12 dB gain max or less. The LTA might be great, CJ I think is way too high in gain (my GAT was great but way too noisy with the Job stereo amp). Primaluna or it's sister make should be great too as well as the STP-SE or other passive.

Jack may have some opinions on what works. The Job monos have XLR inputs too, but I think they are just for convenience.

Job's own preamp could be good too, but I generally love a little tube flavor.

Joe, what preamps do you think a good match for the Job mono's? Perhaps tubes like a CJ or Linear Tube Audio Microzotl?

Without using the Rothwell Attenuators, the only two units I tried that were a match with the Job were the STP-SE and the Nuprime DAC-10's preamp. The Modwright is 12 db and even it has very little range on the volume control in addition to the requirement for "dead silent" tubes. Same was true of three other tube preamps. I have had no negative effects from using the Rothwell's nor have any of the reviewers in Europe that tested them so with them you can probably go up to about 15 db gain. According to JA's measurements of the BHK preamp the gain balanced input to balance output was 9.8 db and SE input to SE output was 3.7 db. I would guess that means it should work too at least SE as the Job preamp is 3 db gain. As the BHK's volume control works in half db steps like the W4S it would also be easier to adjust with overshoot.

I forgot about the PS Audio BHK, I just got one, but don't have the Job stereo (or monos) to try it on. My Job INTegrated does not have any bypass function. That should be pretty awesome. It's a great preamp.

I used VAC, Pass and Classe CP800 with the JOB amp. All were excellent. I still remember how good the JOB amp was with the Raidho D3's. The small amp, small transformer didn't produce earth shattering bass, which was great for the Raidho's. Great sound too. Really sweet. Don't forget the "sweet power cord", it really did sound sweet.

Mike, I bet any Job would be great on your Duos or forthcoming Trios :)

Joe,

I have to thank you for the recommendation on the Job INT.
It has been the most amazing purchase I have ever made in audio.

In the last few months I have been using a Belden 8402 IC between the Job INT and my Lampizator Amber DAC. Works beautifully and has brought some tube love back into the chain.

p.s. At Munich I walked over to the Goldmund booth and thanked Michel Reverchon for the Job INT.
I actually told him it was a true gift to the audio community.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I absolutely loved my Job 225 stereo and I think the Job INTegrated is even better.

I'll have to try the Belden 8402 RCA cables, I do use 8402 XLR interconnects and really like them.

Joe, did you say you ordered the 250 monos ? I would be interested to know what you think of the synergy with the BHK preamp. Strange, I looked at their website and they charge CA tax

No, not yet, but very tempted. Depending on what happens after this summer and fall, I may order a pair before the end of the year. I'm trying to figure out what to keep and what to get rid of equipment-wise. I have a lot now and there's an amp or two I'm itching to try on my Strads first.

Hello guys,

I really like this post and thanks for that!
I have a pair of DIY loudspeakers and would like to get the best out of it with my Job INTegrated. I live in France so it is impossible to get the Job Power Cord.... What power cord would you recommend on that amp?

@Joeinid : The JBL Studio 590 should sound excellent with the Job, shouldn't it?
