Re: Enleum AMP-23R integrated amplifier
It’s a gift, what can I say.
Hopefully I find gear that everyone can love at not crazy prices.
Mine is wonderful, especially on my Fleetwood Deville speakers. Even the headphone part is supposed to be great, I’m not a headphone guy.
While I love the super expensive gear, it’s difficult for me to justify these days. I love finding the undiscovered jems.Fleetwood Deville by Oswald Mills Audio, Vienna Acoustics Haydn Jubilee, Wharfedale Linton w/ stands, Klipsch RB-75, Klipsch RP-160M.

Re: Enleum AMP-23R integrated amplifier
Bakoon aka Enleum are the brainchild of Akira Nagai. Soo Chae was a customer turned partner in that he licensed the technology and built his version in Korea in a sexier chassis.
Nagai-san's amps are class A/B, his claim to fame is the exclusive use of transimpedance circuit topology which he perfected for audio amplification. To get the most out of his gear he recommends staying with his DAC, phono preamps, etc otherwise the signal will go through an unnecessary voltage to impedance conversion depending on inputs used, which is why he has BNC for linking his gear and RCA for connecting traditional voltage gain components.

Re: Enleum AMP-23R integrated amplifier
These Bakoons sound extremely good….demoing the bigger Korean one. And in short, things are lit up, even at first volume. The pace is so much more to my liking and what I’m used to.

Re: Enleum AMP-23R integrated amplifier
Fwiw, I replaced the fuse with a HiFi Tuning Supreme and I like the change. Highs a bit more extended and smoother, a bit more resolution/transients, and a bit more control on lower registers.
I know a lot of people debate the value of fuse changes, and I'm sure no expert on the electrical engineering of it (it doesn't make sense to me frankly that all that power that we spend so much cleaning up, passes through this tiny wire). But my brain tells me there's some difference. Then again, my g/f regularly asks me if I'm brain-damaged.Main System

Re: Enleum AMP-23R integrated amplifier
Thanks Joe for bringing my attention to this amp. I just brought it home for the weekend.
It is a very good amp. Very good tone and microdynamics. This thing certainly is fast, without beeing bright or etched. It doesn't have the bass slam of bigger amps (even on easy to drive speakers) and lacks some openess on top, but is a fun amp to listen to.
I only wish it didn't get so hot (it gets all Krell FBP or Pass XA hot at idle - you can hold your hand on it for longer than a few seconds).Adam
Speakers: Magico M3
Amp: Dagostino Momentum Stereo
