RCA Multi Channel in from 2 sources
Hi, newbie here wanting to find out how to possibly take RCA 7.1 channel outs from two different sources (an Oppo BDP 105d and an Oppo UDP 203) and "Y" connect them into the 7.1 multi channel inputs on the AV receiver. Am wanting to delve into the 4K UHD realm with a (yet purchased) UDP-203 but my receiver is a Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi from 2006 without DTS MA or Dolby TrueHD (even if it did, I would want the DAC in the Oppo's to process). Is it even possible? Thanks!

Re: RCA Multi Channel in from 2 sources
You would need a switcher and to my knowledge none exists that would accept multichannel.

Re: RCA Multi Channel in from 2 sources
My Conrad Johnson MET-1 has two 5.1 inputs and one 5.1 output. Basically, no internal processing, just pass through. I feed the output of my mch DAC (a NADAC which actually has 7.1 output, but I only use 5.1) and my Oppo 105 into the CJ MET-1. Not sure whether this provides what you want (obviously not 7.1, but 5.1).

Re: RCA Multi Channel in from 2 sources
Sony at one point made a multi-channel preamp that allowed one to switch between 2 multi-channel sources. I owned one many moons ago when I had a separate DVD-A and a separate SACD player. I actually sold it for more than I paid for it. Here's the details on what it consisted of - Sony ES TA-P9000ES 5-channel analog preamp at Crutchfield There's actually a few for sale or recently sold on hifishark outside the US (and of course there's different voltages in different countries and one would need a voltage converter) - Sony TA-P9000 ES (5.1 Vorverstarker) in Rheinland-Pfalz - Kenn | Weitere Audio & Hifi Komponenten gebraucht kaufen | eBay Kleinanzeigen.

Apparently, there's also this - Zektor CVS4 4x1 Component Video Switcher Used as 5.1 Analog Audio Switcher - HomeTheaterHifi.com and not sure but it's possible that something like this could work for 5.1 - Monoprice 4-Port Component Video Switch with IR Learning - Monoprice.com
