    Headphones that can rock

I have tried a lot of headphones and love a lot of different types of music. Lately and especially at work I have been listening to a lot of rock. I found that many headphones were not especially adept at rock. However I have been blown away by the Abyss... Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Sound Garden, Sonic Raid, NIN, etc., have been very impressive. It is surprising that such a thin headphone can rock better than any I previously tried!

    Re: Headphones that can rock

I have the Focal Utopia and Audeze LCD2C. Too me the Focal has a centered soundstage that is a bit narrow. The Audeze has a sort of gap where the soundstage feels disjointed but bass is good.
I can’t compare with higher end Audezes but the Focal does everything very, very well. Dynamics and bottom is good.

I would like the Abyss 1266 in my stable. It is quite an acquired design- more of a medieval torture device.

Agree... love the Diana design though... I have never tried the 1266 but I have been told they are fairly comfortable in spite of their design and sound amazing.
