    Salon 3?

Harman has been very tight lipped about a replacement for the Salon 2. When people ask, they say nothing is happening. I find this a little hard to believe since it's been 8 yrs. I may be wrong, but my gut is telling me we may get a surprise soon. I'm hoping they shock us at CES.

    Has anyone heard anything?

    Re: Salon 3?

When it comes out, I hope they use the Salon2/Studio2 tweeter, unless they can design one that sounds the same (or better - which I doubt), but is just helps with overall efficiency.

    Mark,

I called Revel a couple months ago and they said nothing was in the pipeline on the Salon or Studio. My friend is interested in a pair.

    Re: Salon 3?

I am considering a pair of Salon2 for a second set of speakers.

I totally loved the Studio2's that I had.

I listen to Bruce's Salon2 system on a fairly regular basis and his system sounds incredible. I know I have amps that work superbly on the Salons.

I am dragging my heels wondering if an updated version will be coming out. The only problem, I guess, is that I think the price of the new ones will be out of reach, sadly.

I know what you mean Joe, I'm afraid Revel will price them too high for me as well.

    Ken,

Maybe they will be calling the Salon 2 replacement by another name, that way every time we ask about the Salon 3, they're not lying to us

I too would suspect that they would have something in development by now... but didn't they just release a new Ultima Sub at this years CES? Seems an odd thing to do if a new line is in the works.

    Joe,

I would call and try to get one of their technical guys on the phone. I think you would most likely get an honest answer. I'm not saying the gentleman I spoke with was insincere but he might just be following the company line.

    Re: Salon 3?

Kevin said there are no plans for a Salon 3 - at this time, it's not even on their roadmap. They examine their roadmap four times a year, so that may change.

They have no plans to replace the tweeter because "they haven't found anything better" and Kevin said they are working hard on measurements to fully reveal why it sounds so good.

    That's it!

Thanks Mike for checking with Kevin. Maybe a diamond coating on their beryllium tweeter?

    Re: Salon 3?

    Mike,

I have to wonder if Kevin is just keeping things quiet. The Harman group's Mark Levinson line has released a number of very nice new products recently. I have to believe they must have a line of speakers coming out to compliment the electronics.

    My 2 cents...
