Adding Some Subs to the Salon 2's

After some long thinking, and talking to Jim Smith, I've decided to add some subs to my main speakers. I ordered 2 REL S2 subs to run in stereo. Mike has them ordered, but still no time frame. I'm very excited to see what they will bring to the table.

Jim has said to me that he's never heard a full range speaker that didn't benefit from adding subs to the equation. And he also said that it is much easier to integrate subs with a full range speaker.

    I'm pretty stoked!!

Congrats Mark! That's terrific news. Just curious, did you consider the Revel subwoofer? I've seen that baby up close and it's awesome. Expensive but awesome.

Mark, way to go. I don't recall ever reading Jim giving anyone bad advice. If integrated properly & the subs are a match for the speakers your lower mid range as well, will be an improvement that will bring you a sublime experience.

Ken, the Revel sub is too big and too expensive for me right now. Jim was much more in favor of running a pair of smaller subs in stereo than one big one in mono.

A pair of subs work better for smoothing out bass response as well.

Mark...I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say when the subs are in place. You have a much bigger room than I have but we both love our Salons.

    Mark,

Yeah, I would totally prefer two smaller stereo subs to one large mono sub. Good choice!

Bruce...you may need a pair of REL subs! Those would certainly put the finishing touch on your system - the cherries on top! Adding Some Subs to the Salon 2's
