Re: Gryphon News
I've known Joe since the Chris Hansen /Cello days--he's a shrewd operator I'm sure he'll come out smelling of Roses!
As an aside --I wonder if Flemming was still at the helm this "radical" move would have seen the light of day with such a full blast changeout.
I met Flemming at a Demo in the early 90's we talked Big Game fishing--he was a keen Fisherman--I promised to take him out to hunt the Black Marlin off the Continental Shelf from where I live.
Did his eyes light up--he indeed was a gentleman!
He struck me an honest fellow of the old school and one that would gather all parties to the table and sort out solutions in a timely and subjective fashion.
From what I know of Rune I'm also surprised this seemingly "Bull at a Gate" decision maybe not entirely his thinking either.
Sorry to hear you are no longer Gryphon Mike-- you have establish the reputation
Interested to see who catches the loose reins on the apparently runaway horse--and can run with it !

Re: Gryphon News
I hope you will find a new way to work with Gryphon. If anything, having an official Gryphon subsidiary should be a bonus.
There is nothing quite like the Mephisto power amp on the market. I had friends changing from Solution and Dagostino to Mephisto. I gave 5 friends owning Mephisto now, using them to drive anything from Magico M-Pro to Wilson Alexx.Adam

Gryphon News
Our business model of finding the best in all categories won’t work.
They will probably have a small group of “all-in” dedicated dealers and I wish them luck. I’m sure Gryphon speakers, cables and racks are good, but nobody, and I mean nobody, has ever called and asked me about them.
As for the electronics, we will have access to a large selection of inventory for quite some time from the former distributor. We sold three Diablo 300’s and three Essence amps in the past week alone. Plenty of additional inventory to last us quite some time and wrap up any lingering sales. The TAS Antilleon Evo review is already driving interest our way. Had two calls yesterday.
I’m not sure what I will do to replace Gryphon, if anything at all. I’m thinking of taking a chance with a relatively unknown brand with tremendous product. We shall see.
For now, we are getting through tax season and seeing what’s left when the dust settles. My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: Gryphon News
I think it is the same everywhere - electronics, esp. amps is what flies out of the shelves. Speakers, cables, racks - not so much (if at all).
Honestly, I'm not getting this push towards - speakers, cables and racks. I still remember when Krell introduced speakers, which ruined their relations with many speaker manufacturers. I'm pretty sure the net result was negative for the company. Same may happen to Gryphon.Adam

Re: Gryphon News
None of the brands you have mentioned, matches in my experience Gryphon electronics.
One of my friends - Magico M-Pro owner - has just bought the Mephisto to replace his Soulution 511 monos. He tried 701 monos, but the Mephisto was much better. He still has the Soulution 7-series preamp.Adam

Re: Gryphon News
The gryphon amps are pretty stout. Even my 120 Oozes with quality all the way around
