...No product info if it's outside their own financial interest!

Furthermore; check the site's reputation from the search engine!

And! The member's list is prefabricated, fake! There aren't 150,000+ members; there are only 5,000 members at best!
==> Just check the member's list; see all the fake names!

The saddest thing is this: most members over there or they aren't aware of the facts, or they simply go with the flow!
And that is no good because you are willingly (or unwillingly) encouraging the personal financial interest of the owner, who is a total snob in top of all the other deficiencies!

But what can you do; there is no police for this kind of Internet behavior.
People themselves have to make their own choice and decision.
And usually, when you're ready to do the right thing; that's exactly when you get banned!

Think this too (fact): The good people (knowledgeable audio ones) over there, with beneficial information in their posts and in their excellent replies to other member's audiophile questions; they are only accessible if you register and log in.
Nobody outside that ridiculous policy has access to the good stuff!

I mean, how much more stupid and detrimental than this can it be! We live in the year 2013, and the Internet should be the free highway of good accessible information to us all. But no, over there it is all under strict control, and limited to a very few, and operated by an individual who is mainly driven by his own financial interest. ....Highly biased towards the companies he's representing, of course.

And the good people, the good audio dealers who join the team; their input and output is very restricted and limited.
If they think they are expanding and sharing their knowledgeable audio horizons and their businesses, they are thinking wrongly.
And what you learn mainly is not for your good, but for some people's pockets (bank accounts).
Simply put, you are directed away from the audio truth and purity. ...It's a scam, simple as that.

All the "good" sites you can provide links, and even to other audio/video forums (except for some where it has to be a specific post from that forum, and with few words supporting that link: AVS Forum for example).

But true, I know several audio forums who are just morons regarding what link, or any link for that matter you are allowed to post, outside their own jurisdiction.
Those audio forums are best to stay away from (like being a member of), but only to read what you need (the audio experts).

Every audio forum have their regulars, and they kind of shape the overall direction. And the number of members (true members, not fake ones) are another important denominating factor in that direction too. ...And the quality (intelligence, knowledge, expertise, good communicators, respect, friendliness, ...) of the members dictate the state of the discussions among members (new and old) of them audio forums.

All of us here we are also members of several other audio (and video) forums, and after a certain time we see the overall atmosphere, and we also know that WE (ourselves) are more important (we decide of our own direction, we make our own choice, we decide if we accept or refuse) in creating a friendly environment and an informative one too, than on relying on others and negatively criticizing them (positive and objective criticism is good).

I believe (no I'm certain) that it is up to each one of us to decide of the direction we like best to take. ...And no matter where we are (anywhere on this planet or/and in the cyber space).
We all know that the rules are the same (quasi) everywhere, and we also know the particularities of some specific forums.

I strongly believe in the power of good communication (beneficial discussions, positive articulation, comprehensible universal language), and a good sense of humor, and happiness, and positiveness, and encouragement.
Our love of music/movies is our passion (one of them), our hobby, and for that we need not only good music recordings and movie media (analog or digital) but also the audio/video gear to reproduce/show it.

And there, is the essence of our presence in such places (audio/video forums); from the beginner to the guru expert, including everything between the entry-level audio/video components to the ultra high-end gear, even the clean power supply of our electrical outlets, power control boxes, and our cables, interconnects, speaker wires and AC power cords and power purifier machines and record cleaner machines, and stabilizers, and shock absorbers, and anti-vibrating pills, and noise/distortion camouflage devices, and respirators, and inhalators, and reflectors, and sound trappers, and ear cleaners (sryinges), ...

...From the very low-end to the very high-end there are millions and millions of people with all kind of available assets and finances from their various bank accounts, type of work, and all that jazz, and depending of the degree (intensity level) of their deep passion mixed with their life's values, principles and priorities and families and homes and cars and friends and girlfriends and boats and submarines and castles in Spain and jewelry and good food and good smokes and good snow and good wines and all drinks and parties by the pool, and also at different times in their audio/video evolution, and even with people always constantly following the latest technologies, adapting to them, jumping in, first adopters, new products, and to the people emotionally attached to vintage material, and to their inseparable longtime standing youth and rejuvenescence and effervescence and renewed nourishment, and at all ages from one to ninety-nine.

I have never visited that site, as there is no way I subscribe to any sie that forces you to join just to read posts.

So much craziness on the Web. I repeat the same story I was told on good authority. A true guru of the industry anonymously went to one of the popular sites like DIYAudio or the asylum and was literally run outta town by the online "experts" who called him ignorant and stupid. That made for great amusement among the high-end audio insiders who who have written off online experts are schizos. Hahahaha

Don't worry about being banned on silly fora, there are enough intelligent, urbane, welcoming sites like this one to feel at right at home with.

I have been treated with respect from the time of my first post from Joe and all other administrators and members. I appreciate the open and unbiased exchange of ideas that is allowed and encouraged here, which is obviously not the case at some other sites that are clearly biased to support their own financial interests. When other forums restrict outside links and discussion of products which compete with those that they personally sell and support, their motives are all too obvious and apparent for anyone to see. How can their claims and opinions then be trusted? Keep your chins up guys, your hard work is appreciated!

I've known Joe now for a couple of years. I am honored to call him my friend ! Joe has forgotten more about gear than I KNOW !! Let me tell you about what a big heart Joe has. Joe ordered an EAR 890 amp a few months ago from David Baskin @ Design Audio Video here in Texas. Joe told David to loan the amp to me because I have been curious about trying a tube amp on my Salon 2's. And I never even asked him to do that. I've been listening to it for a week now,it's really good,I asked Joe when he wanted me to send it to him and he said "take your time and have some fun" !!

How many people do you know who would do something so kind ??

I occasionally go by the other place but I have let my "membership" lapse, and I must say, I feel no need to post there or participate in any way. The only times I do is to wish a friend over there happy birthday or send good wishes to members who are about to have some medical treatment (Julian aka AudioNut is having a second knee replacement surgery this coming Monday, so wished him well). Well, the owner cut it short by just over two months!
And when I PMed him to let him know of the situation, and that one year equals to twelve months and not ten months; he told me a bunch of bullshit, kids type of stuff, and radically insulted my intelligence level.

There are several other circumstances like that that him and I exchanged via PMs.
Like one time he banned me for a week because I posted the word "balls"! ...In reference to 'walls'.
And some of you remember about one of my avatars, and also all the talking by that individual in the "Picture/Photograph" thread, without words.
Pure harassment!
