Look out! Chinese rocket will crash this week.
The Chinese rocket launched last week will crash back on Earth this week, and where the 21 ton first stage crashes is unknown. It appears this is the way it is designed, and China has at least 10 more launches to go for building their space station.

Yawn... 10% of Earth's land mass is inhabited. Half the world's population is actually crammed into 1% of densely populated areas. Odds are it will hit water that covers 71% or it will hit some uninhabited part of land. 47% of the United States land is unoccupied by the way.
Now of course there is some small chance it hits a major city and then there will be much more stink about how irresponsible China is.

Re: Look out! Chinese rocket will crash this week.
Doom and Gloom? I've always considered myself more of a "realist" with an open mind to consider all variables and possibilities, until most are eliminated as noise and distraction from logic.
Not a big Star Trek fan but I would say that Spock, the Vulcan with his logic would be my favorite character.
My approach to audio over the three plus decades now has been the same. All angles and variables have been explored, from hardware to physiology and psychology until only a few of the important pieces of the audio puzzle have remained in place creating total sonic ZEN and harmony without the audio nervosa.
Getting back to the topic, there is so much space junk in orbit that is whizzing by at over 17,000 miles per hour, the lowest speed needed to remain in the constant "freefall" towards Earth we call "orbiting" that it will present more and more of a threat to both the equipment and human lives up there. There needs to be a clean up effort
The recent trip to the ISS was not exactly uneventful as the astranauts faced a threat of an "unidentified flying object" in their path that had not been predicted. Most likely "space junk" but they got their suits on just in case of impact. E=MC2 and at 17,000 miles per hour plus, the space junk is travelling waaay faster than a bullet from a gun.

Re: Look out! Chinese rocket will crash this week.
This is a graphical representation of the known "space junk" of all sorts and still functioning satellites. Each is traveling at over 17,000 mph in the "Low Earth Orbit" to stay up there.
If the A-1 Abrams tank fires a depleted uranium penetrator rod/round into its target at 5700 fps or 3800 mph, then the space junks laughs at that energy with its velocity that is nearly 5x the speed and packing a wallop of energy that would open up any tin can space station up there like it was papier mâché ...
Obviously the collision is not nearly as bad when a similar speed has been reached by a rocket entering the Low Earth Orbit or the ISS traveling at similar speeds (think of getting on the highway with your car) but man, I have no idea who, what or how is in charge of trying to plan a course through all that junk to get up there safely. I would hate that job and responsibility...
