CD Sleeves

Rid yourself of those pesky cd's and their plastic cases once and for all. You have so much vinyl that you won't even notice they're gone, except you have more space in your bedroom.
Sell them on the black market, give them away for Halloween, perhaps even a sacrificial bonfire...
Cut the cord and just be done with it. Change is good!

When I built my listening room I had the CD's in the room on the back wall, it screwed with the sound having all that hard plastic reflective surface behind the listener (me) so out they went and sound improved. For the time being getting the sleeves solves my spare bedroom issue, I can have all my CD's in the listening room or at least the one's I desire to listen to and they will be in nice cd storage boxes and yes it may take a few more minutes to find something but with an outer label with the artist and title on each sleeve and good organization its no big deal to me. So yes the direction of the thread is fine by me as I wasn't asking for approval merely sharing......I hope all is well and happy Listening.

Those sleeves would be better if they fit into a notebook (3-ring binder) like case. Using them to stack on shelves would soon result in the covers getting all crinkled and such. Plus the data side of the CD is against the back label which is worse than sitting in a jewel case undisturbed. In those cases you have to slide the CD out thus sliding the data side against the paper back every time you take it in and out. Jewel case you lift up and away from the plastic tray, no sliding for potential scratching. For sleeves hold CDs I like the soft lined ones. That way the sliding doesn't lead to scratching so easy. Sadly they don't make those to hold the art work, booklet etc.
Just FYI: I have over 1000 CDs in their jewel cases and I just broke down and built cabinets. I have room for about 90 more before reaching capacity. I'm limited for space too. I have my vinyl records in crates from The Container Store because I have zero room to store them any other way and with current count at about 300 records I have room for only about 40 more records before have a storage problem for vinyl records. Not because Ilike them less than CDs, I like many of them better, I just have no space for an Ikea cabinet or anything like that.

Sliding the CD in and out is no different than an LP in and out of its sleeve, pay attention and all will be fine plus getting a sleeve that holds the art work and booklet is a plus for me, very few do. The Sleeves are pretty good (quality) these days (clear 4mil thick archival polyethylene) also......I've spoke with a few that have been using this particular type for years and no issues. I find this to be the best scenario for my situation and eventually I will have replaced the majority of my CD's with a LP copy and the small amount of CD's that remain due to not being able to find a LP copy can be ripped or what ever.....I'm in hopes of being 99% LP and 1% CD :) and also Tape is soon in my future also :exciting:
