    What's your office system?

I spend more time in my office than my listening room. Having good sound during work is a blessing. I have an old pair of Spendor Prelude 2/2's that I bought second handed many years ago. Had a Peachtree, but upgraded to an NAD M10. Fantastic piece, and I love its sound, presence, and display on my desktop. I have a crappy Energy 6" sub. Gives some light boom to the bottom end, but needs to go.
I certainly prefer a darker sound in my office, but am thinking I would like a little less twang in the upper midrange, and a better soundstage.

What's in your office, and why?

    Re: What's your office system?

iMac > Monoprice USB > NuPrime IDA-8 > Kimber 8TC's > Axiom Audio M3's. I mostly stream Qobuz, but it's cool having great sonics even when watching YouTube videos or listening to internet radio stations. They only go down to 60-ish, but they sound amazing across the board. I had a cheap JBL sub and it just sounded boomy, so I went back to the M3's alone. My M2's are also fine for the desktop, but the M3's are just bigger and better, and go a bit deeper.

BTW Ricky, some incredible equipment you have there!

    Re: What's your office system?

Mine is a bit modest but fine for what it is used for.
PC running J River > Audioquest Cinnamon USB > Firestone Fubar DAC > Tara Labs Quantum 66 ICs > Lepai 20x20 amp > DIY Speaker Cables > Dynaudio 42 Speakers.

I have about 300GB of music files I shuffle thru or I am watching Youtube music videos. Usually lower volume but it sounds pretty decent for what it is at any volume. The Dynaudios are great little speakers and I am surprised at how the tiny chip amp drives them.

My office system is still my home system, 15 metres from it, with a corridor in between but it works

My Main is downstairs but I can hear it anywhere in the house and when home alone I will crank that and listen from the office.

My workshop has a laptop running Roon and Qobuz feeding a speaker bar in front of the computer. High tech.

1/2 of the time there is enough noise that I can't hear what is playing anyway. Plus with hearing protection on and my hearing aids removed to not magnify the shop noise its just something to not have silence stop to think.

    Re: What's your office system?

Now that I am retired, I do not spend as much time in my office in the new house. It is mainly for doing bills or using the computer. However, I do have a pair of B&W MM1 powered speakers attached to the PC. They really are pretty amazing for a speaker designed to be used specifically with computers.

When I was going to the office in my former life, I used to use my Astell&Kern portable with the Abyss headphones most days!

Like others my 'office' and listening room coexist. At 14'6" wide by 24'6" deep it works out just fine.

I got them some years ago. Most of that system is at least 10 years old. He seemed to stop making that particular speaker not long after I got mine.

3.5 inch Fostex full range speaker in a beautiful, small, bass reflex enclosure. He does great woodwork, and veneer+finishing. A bit large for sitting on the desk, looking much better on stands than crowding my desk, in my previous office.

That's an amazing setup! I've been thinking about moving to the Harbeth PS3 or the KEF R3 Metas.

    Re: What's your office system?

If everything goes as planned, I will have my own office at work. Actually, I already do, but I have yet to use it since we're short-handed at the moment and I'm always out in the shop. With that said, with all of the extra gear I have laying around, I'm pretty sure I'll slap together a nice little system for the office at work. Just a pair of bookshelf speakers, the Cambridge CXN V2 streamer that I still have, and a small integrated amp.

And yes, I do realize that you all are referring to a home office. But our house is too small for a dedicated office, and in my line of work, it doesn't require a home office.

Complete overkill, but just ordered some rosewood Harbeth SHL5's for the office. Thinking they will be beautiful to look at, and sound great at low listening levels....
