Tubes. I recently replaced my Pass Labs INT-150 with a Primaluna Premium Dialogue HP and haven't looked back! The sound is far richer and simply more realistic to my ears.

Main amp is Hybid, secondary amp is SS.

I had swapped them every few months along with speakers, but built another system with the pcs.

I like my Hybrid amp Tube Pre for everything my SS setup doesn't do, and I love my full SS setup for what my Tube-Hybrid setup doesn't do.

In May of last year, I purchased a First Watt F6.
last week, I added a RB10 tube preamp from Audio by Van Alstine. It is a new model and sounds very good in my system!

Just switched from tubes (kt-88) to Oasis S200 M 200W class A SS. Love the tube sound and love these SS with a bit of warmth as well. A little tube like!

Off line, I talk to AS members about this thread a lot.

The results are puzzling to me. I would have thought tubes would have been higher, much higher.

Salk Songtowers. I was considering a different First Watt amp, but Mark at Reno thought the F6 would be a better match.

I have about 20 Tube amps and 1 solid state.

I guess my vote is both.

Re: What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

To my ears solid state creates a hi-fi experience whereas tubes can transform a listening session into an emotional experience.

With tubes I do however miss the extreme low end grunt solid state can provide with big speakers.

Is there a place for "all of the above" ? I have several different listening rooms and systems. Like many of you my gear closet is huge and fairly active in some of the rooms. I pretty much like the virtues of every type but I don't spend much time listening to components stock. Stock to me is for shipping only. I like getting my components as close to the original designer's sound as possible.

Mike, of I'm not mistaken, one of the Grandinote founders might join the Sharks Dinner in Munich by invitation through Audiophon.

I must add: the Luxman power amp is just for drive my AKG K1000 headphones.
For the main speakers (Mission 767) I use a pair of tube McIntosh 275 in mono configuration plus the LFAU (solid state) active filter and low freq amp + PSX additional power supply.
In my second and smaller equipment, the amp is solid state. A Cyrus II SE + (again) PSX additional power supply, driving a pair of two way Vieta BD-5070 monitors, which I'm planning to replace for the stunning KEFs' LS 50 (and a KEF sub, too).

Until end of 2015, all Burmester (5 channels).
Then I heard my current amps, and I changed to Halgorythme.
3 mono blocks for the front three speakers, and 1 stereo amplifier for the rears.
They punch waaaaaay above their price point.

Dedicated AC being installed today-YEA. The rest of the house will not need to be a meat locker when listening to music any more.

I have test tube with amplifier Melody and it's beautiful for the voices...

Re: What type of amps do you use? Tube? Solid State? Both? Hybrid?

The hybrid I use is the Pathos Classic Integrated amp. that's in my living room, driving the old Quad ESL 57 electrostatic speakers.
The tube amp. is a VTL tiny triod that drives my new Monitor Audio Silver RS6 speakers. Formerly they drove the Spendor 100 SL speakers, using a Reference Line Passive pre-amp.
When the mood suits me I have a no-name integrated 300B SET amp. that I use on my Spendors and now the Monitors.
Stashed in a closet, I have an Audio Illusions Mod II pre-amp that I'm not using because I like the Passive preamp better, and besides, it needs re-tubing.

I used to have VTL tiny triodes on Quad 57s and it was sublime.

Both in triamp arrangement, SS/tubes/SS. Low bass below 80 Hz handled by a 500w SS powered sub. > 80 by tube and SS biamped floor standers (Tannoys) driven by a pair of 125w tube monoblocks and a 100w/ch integrated SS for the high end.
