    Take me back....Yamaha RN2000A

I'm sure there are a few here that built their first real audio system in the late 70's and 80's. Mine was a Yamaha 840 receiver and Bose 601's with a Dual turntable. I have incredible nostalgic feelings about that era.
I see Yamaha introduced an integrated that has the same styling of that era. Thinking how much pleasure that would give on my desk in my office.
Any chance it actually sounds good?

Anyone else here ever have one of the Yamaha 640/840/1040 receivers?

Good times. In 79 I was using a Heathkit my brother built with a Dual TT and Heathkit speakers.

    Re: Take me back....Yamaha RN2000A

I had one Yamaha integrated, it was silver face with some large bright ugly green and yellow lights on front. It sounded alright but lacked bass definition. I really wanted to hear their current higher end amps but the room was full went I went by.

Around 79 I had a Realistic receiver, Centrex speakers with a 12" woofer, Pioneer turntable.
