RIP Chris Sommovigo of Black Cat Cable

Another industry icon passes. Chris died very suddenly on Monday. He was an artisan and created many well-regarded cable lines. Condolences to his family and industry friends.

Re: RIP Chris Sommovigo of Black Cat Cable

Very sad news. I just bought a pair of RCA cables from him a couple of months ago to try with my SUT. Super nice guy.

This is so hard to believe and accept.

Chris was in great shape, always fun to be around, overall a great and super nice person who just happened to also be brilliant.

What a loss, first to his loving family, his friends, and the audio industry. 🥵

Having owned an Illuminati D60 digital cable many many years ago, and deeming it the best I had at the time, I have followed Chris’ journey to Stereovox, Stereolab and Black Cat Cables, rooting for him to succeed. This is sad news indeed. RIP Chris.
