I can't remember if Infigo used Ulta at Axpona but their room sounded good. The folks behind the company are very nice.

Yes both Hans and Michael Levy are nice. In fact, this exact same gear was used at Axpona but with the addition of the DAC/Pre.

Re: Review of the Alta Audio Hestia II loudspeakers with Infigo Electronics

Looks like Jim was a big help with the set up. After watching I have a couple questions.

    1. Why wasn't the Infigo DAC/pre used? Do you feel the ARC and Aquala units were better?

    2. You go through the lengths taken to adapt your room and intensive speaker setup but then say once the speakers were set then you hooked up the electronics. What electronics were used during the speakers setup? If not the review system I have to wonder if that made any difference, it seems it would, setting up for one system then using another, if that's the case. Of course Jim was helping you so I'm sure there must be a good explanation.

You compare the units being reviewed to your reference system in the basement but never mention what the system is so your comparisons to that system were not helpful. I'd especially like to know what speakers. They must be massive to make all you did to the living room worth not having to move them.

    Good questions!

    1. We did not use the DAC/Pre because we need some analog inputs for the SACD player. I also wanted a line stage I was familiar with for judging the system.

    2. I don’t recall saying that. We used the same components shown in the review for the speaker setup.

The basement system has my Alexia Vs and the gear detailed below. The Alexias weight 270 lbs or so. But Jim and I also wanted to setup the living room for a future system and the sound is decent there. We went all out on the setup. Jim kept refining and refining as he usually does.
