    R.I.P. Pierre Sprey

I saw this by accident yesterday. I know him from his Mapleshade recording label. If you haven't sampled any Mapleshade CD's run over to their website and try a few. They far surpass anything I've heard from any other source AND they were recorded years ago at Pierre's home using his own custom made equipment. He was truly a renaissance man with multiple interests and a meaningful career in government. He will be missed.

Pierre Sprey, Pentagon analyst who battled brass to produce A-10 warplane, dies at 83

Fascinating article of a very interesting fellow: “may well be the most fascinating person you’ve never heard of.”

Just found site where you can purchase his recordings. Going to sample a few.

Thanks for sharing an illuminating article on a great man. ...RIP

I have few of his recordings; clarity, presence, musicianship, quality, technical, ...like being there.

I also have some of the CDs. While the music isn’t my favorite the sound quality is amazingly good. I also have a 500 pound Mapleshade maple rack, and Mapleshade brass footers under my gear.

    Re: R.I.P. Pierre Sprey

i spoke with him on the phone a couple times while ordering CD's. He was interested in what type music I would like recorded. His past history with the Pentagon reminds me of Jeff Skunk Baxter's. RIP
