Power Cable Question - Is this OK to do?

I was offered a Luxman JPA-15000 power cable by a friend to try. It is a two prong cable.

Is it safe to use on a non-Luxman piece of audio equipment that currently has a three prong cable?

So the most power hungry piece in your system will have no ground. How does that make you feel? I would never use a two prong cable unless of course it was plugged into a grounded power conditioner. But, I prefer to plug straight into my 20amp wall outlet. Your call.

Hi Darrel - I was thinking of using it on the streamer plugged into an AudioQuest 1200.

I still prefer to use a grounded cable on my most important pieces even in my AQ 1000.

Mike had a Youtube podcast about Shunyatas new grounding boxes. I'd recommend watching it to understand the importance of proper grounding ones equipment.

How do you connect a 'two prong cable' to a three prong component?
and NO, it's not safe to use it with a three prong component.

The IEC side of the Luxman cable is a standard IEC with an inlet for the ground pin. The male side just has 2 pins that plug into the outlet.
