    Music Streaming Stuff

A guy was having dropouts and asked about file size, this got me to wondering......

I learned a 1,411 FLAC stream from Tidal takes about 3MB of bandwidth. Taken from an internet article, sorry no link.

I also learned Amazon CD quality is only 825 kbps, Tidal is 1,411 FLAC, I can't remember Qobuz but I believe is was the same as Tidal.

Where things gets interesting is Qobuz is capable, and has very few files, that can stream 9,216 kbps (going from memory) but for sure of 9,000
Amazon higher rez was up to 3700 and Tidal 3,000. So those who claim Qobuz sounds better coulc certainly be right if able to stream those resolutions above 3k kbps.

Amazon can stream hi rez files at the same quality as Qobuz.

Here’s the bitrate info when streaming Sunrise by Norah Jones.

    From Qobuz -

What equipment do you use to play Amazon at high resolution?

This was just from Bluesound Node 2i, I haven’t found a better alternative yet for Amazon music although I’m planning on trying out the NAD M33 as soon as it’s available in the US.

    Old thread. Thanks!
I typically don’t stream offline because 99% of the time I have access to internet.
And yes Qobuz gives you full, lossless signal including high resolution unlike other providers.
