While the Fine is by no means anywhere near cheap, the relatively modest size also does not fully convey what those great speakers can do.

Yes! I heard them today, along with their top of the line, and was suitably impressed! They image like crazy, with all the proper stuff, depth, palpability, etc. Really impressed by them!

Hi Priaptor, I auditioned the Gobel's at length some time ago. Excellent speaker, but I had problems with the bass, this was without the subs. Feel Free to PM me if you want more details.

This is very odd because what we all heard across several days - with both models - was excellent in the bass.

Not disputing your impressions at all. Everything was different in the setup I heard, different amps, different sources, different room, no subwoofers. As with everything in our hobby.... listen for yourselves folks....

I was always very impressed by the Goebel speakers in the last years. The last two years they played with Analog Domain and this year with CH and Vitus. They always showed huge, deep and very precise imaging along with a very natural and uncoloured presentation. I'm sure it's due to their rectangular true full range transducer.
I did not feel any lack of bass of the smaller version in the Vitus room. For me quality and quantity was just right. The same for the big Goebel in the Goebel room with CH with their "small" sub. I remember that some years ago they were showing their speakers with their big subwoofer and the the room was overloaded with bass.

For me the Goebel speakers were a definitive highlight of the show.

I also was very impressed even with the smaller Fine/ Vitus setup and did not miss anything in the presentation.

As a natural born sceptic, being impressed is a rather hard thing for me to do Munich High End show 2017.
