    Is MichaelsMinute for real??

It looks like MM has originated something like 40% of the last 10 threads. Is s/he for real? Is s/he a bot?

    Mike! Help!

Did you see the videos where I interview Mike? I posted them on this forum.

That would be quite a feat if Mike was interviewed by a bot on video multiple times and didn't even know it.

Also that's quite a feat for a bot to have a Luxman 595aSE listed for sale in the forum marketplace. LOL

I find it refreshing to have some new people here creating discussion threads.

Is there a specific thread count that makes one a Bot, or did you confuse AS with Twitter?

AJ is the forum academy like the Academy Awards? Would he be eligible for an award like an Oscar? Think Mike would host the show at Suncoast? Maybe add to the FAE?

    Re: Is MichaelsMinute for real??

I told my wife about this thread and she laughed pretty hard.

She said "ya, some evil foreign government decided to program a bot that makes audio videos and to infiltrate an audio forum to make posts about....boring audio stuff. How silly." LOL

It was a good laugh. Thanks Nicoff!

Edited to replace with correct name of Nicoff the OP

Eminem might have really started something. Annual audio forum awards at the audio shows every year. Rotate the award presentation to a different show each year. Will need to create an academy executive committee.

Not sure of the validity but I read something about a year ago that ASR had the highest engagement and activity of all audio forums combined. I wonder what their secret is?

Well, for starters, those that don't agree with others can stop using references to "Wing Nuts" (= Right leaning mindset) and "Tin Foil Hats" (Conspiracy Theorist). If you go back and search on Tin Foil Hat you get about 6 hits and a few were locked 2 years ago. Read thru them and see who these terms were pointed at and then realize it all came true over the last few years. This issue is nothing new here but perpetuated by those who cannot or will not allow others to have a different point of view created from the information they have gathered without MSM.

I do not have a definitive solution. My personal strategy is to add offenders to my "ignore" list and not engage them in their destructive discourse.

Sorry Brian forums create the ultimate anonymity and this problem is not corralled into a single party. Some peoples gonads tend to grow rather large sitting behind a screen.

Eminem you remind me of that Blizzard that blew through the forums a few years ago. I weathered that storm. I gotta run out for more cigs and PBR, I’ll be back.

On another forum I use, he would be described as a Troll. Never quite understood what this entails, but people raising deliberately provocative questions or opinions seem to get this tag

I do find it entertaining when people who are easily triggered are victimized by topics on a forum that may have differing opinions. Such topics where people have different opinions on a forum full of opinions must be trolls they claim!! How dare someone talk about something with different opinions! (Maybe the easily triggered should stay off the internet). And let's be honest, who complains that someone is starting new topics to discuss on a forum? LOL

I also find it entertaining that we can follow these same people across multiple audio forums (they use the same screen name) and see how they act and that they are generally consistently the official forum trouble makes despised by most on the forums (they seem to be the only ones who don't know it). Then they lecture us about civility.

Did I come into this forum a little hot? Sure, I admit it. I LOVE and am PASSIONATE about audio and want to share that! But if that bothers you.....wow. Just wow.

There seems to be two camps of people on these forums:

    - The small handful of posters that contribute no real topics other than to name call, purposely derail topics, and add meanness and basic 4th grade mentality to otherwise normal posts (and they do so across many forums);

    - The rest of the people who meaningfully contribute with posts on a variety of topics and can have differing options like adults that the above mentioned small group are not able to.

Frankly, if you are that easily triggered that any post that lists how someone tracks their burin in process, or that they saw an interesting post that mimicked what a company was doing is considering trolling, then you really must have a hard time with even the most basic functions in a normal society.

Once again we leave it to the same small group of people on this forum (as Here Here and others did on that other forum where the mod posted for people to ignore him for being a troll/trouble maker along with others on here) to turn this one into a personal attacks and name calling. And then they point to you as the problem if you dare to stand up to them being the Official Forum Jerk as true bullies always do.

The good news is that as an adult I am not triggered by posts and I have learned to accept the mental illness people exhibit on these forums and just ignore it. How sad their lives must be to get joy from destroying a bunch of people trying to have fun talking about different opinions on something as mundane as audio.

I have no ill-will towards any of them. And to dislike them would simply be a waste of energy rather than focusing on the positives of being an adult. The question is - will they keep wasting their energy continuing to act that way? I think we all know the answer to that. They simply can't help themselves. We should feel sorry for them.

ETA: I've now blocked the official forum jerks so they can waste their energy posting nonsense all they want and I will never see it going forward and can instead focus on the positivity of the normal members of this forum. . $100 says they still relish in negativity and victimhood and post personal attacks.

Yeah, that show and a visit to Suncoast Audio are on my wish-list. Not in the cards this winter, though...
