Hey Jay what did you think about the Constellation Pictor preamp? Mid tier or bottom tier in preamps?

i would say it is between middle and top. It needs the external power supply to sound best imo

Yes. Emile was brilliant in fixing the sonic issues with Roon (after Roon updates and such), but decided it was better to build their own software. TAS is really just a stop gap solution. Will be exciting to see the finished software product for Taiko.

I will be releasing the very first interview that Emile - (Taiko Audio's founder) has ever done on Youtube. I am glad to be the first person to interview him and i hope you all enjoy this.

I plan to release the video around 215pm Easter Time today. We went over a bunch of interesting topics which include his take on power cords, isolation devices, future plans, and if there will be a new more affordable music server in the future!

Having been back in this hobby seriously for about 13 years now, Shunyata's cable and power distribution products are what I've settled on after trying several other brands, including Audioquest and Wireworld, to name a few.

My guess is you'll be running PCs straight from the wall to your amps; you'll notice some interesting things with dynamics that the Omega QR power cords provide. The QR device in the Omega QR-s power cord really improves dynamic slam, immediacy, as well as making the presentation sound more lifelike, expansive and engaging.

The "filter" you were pointing to on the Sigma v2 interconnect is a TAP device: Transaxial Polarizer. The way the signal is carried is as an electromagnetic wave that propogates down the condutor; current (or signal) does not "flow" through the conductor like water in a hose, or marbles (i.e., electrons) rolling inside a tube. There two types of EM waves that propogate down the conductor, a "transverse wave" that that actually carries the signal and a "longitudinal" wave that propogates down the conductor, as well. The effect of this longitudinal wave is analogous to the "glare" you get when viewing unpolarized sunlight on a lake or pond. The TAP filter acts like putting on a pair of polarized sunglasses, in how it cuts out the effects "glare" from that longitudinal EM wave. What you'll notice is increased focus, clarity, transparency and "openness" with an IC that has the TAP devices on it.

Regarding those DF-SS cable elevators. For sure put your speaker cables on them, the improvement is not subtle. The material you hear inside them when you shake them is not sand, it is a proprietary material that dissipates the static electricity field that is created when any cable is elevated off the floor. It's impact can be measured with a static electricity gauge, e.g. Keyence Electrostatic Voltmeter. It's important to lift cables off the floor to mitigate the impact of vibrations imparted to them by the floor, but you also have to eleminate the static E-field that is created when you lift cables off the floor, as well. That's what the proprietary material inside the bases does.

And...put those nice Omega PCs on them too. I was skeptical about the improvement they brought to power cords until I heard the improvement they bring first-hand during a demo in the listening room at Shunyata HQ when I visited there in June. NOT subtle. You want to elevate them for the same reasons as speaker cables.

Oh, also, if you are not using one of Shunyata's Ethernet or USB digital cables...you should be. I've not heard anything that comes close and I've done extensive competive benchmarking with all the other major brands.

I know the product line well, so if you have any questions, feel free to ping me via PM.

    Cheers, mate.
