I take a look at the WireWorld Ethernet Cables...

Hey Guys - my take on the WireWorld cables in my system.

Interesting note: the Blue Jeans Cable at only ~$10 is still quite good and the bargain champion! Frankly they still have a place in my system and hold their own against more expensive cables in many instances.

The BJC are a nice cable. In my competitive benchmarking, the "generic" Belden Cat6A were the worst-sounding. My favorite in this price range are the Supra Cat8.

Supra Cat8 is a great cable choice.

In my experience, quality Cat 8 cables very often operform the so called "audiophile" Ethernet cables, which are often only Cat 6 rated. My advice is always get regular, certified Cat.8 cables before spending money on the audiophile ones.

It is definitely true higher price does not automatically guarantee better sound. I still maintain that BJC or something similar is the right choice for a vast majority of people and still use BJC in parts of my system. I was actually disappointed with the Supra finding it a bit brittle sounding where it sits I in the closet now.

Depending on how the content is mastered and the overall character of the rest of the system, Supra can be a bit "bright" or brittle-sounding. It's a true system, and as such, in a systems-engineering context, the consitutent functional components can, and do, interact.*

In my experience, though, Wireworld Starlight Cat8 can be somewhat bright-sounding as well. It's got excellent neutrality, resolution, and transparency, but depending the how the content is mastered, it can also be somewhat lean and thin-sounding. Between it and Audioquest Vodka, I preferred the Vodka overall.

*– Just digressing for a moment here, because these interactions are quite common, this is why good engineering teams use DOEs (Designs of Experiments) to de-convolve statistically-significant functional interactions.

E.g. shown here, a Central-Composite Design DOE with Axial points; this DOE will elucidate any interactions, if present.

and...an interaction plot, shown here for a subwoofer DOE...this interaction is statistically significant.

Good to know it wasn't just me!

At the end of the day my mind-altering, universe-shattering ethernet and USB cables by a million-mile margin over anything else I've ever heard are the Stealth cables. Literally turned my perception of what cables can do upside down as I outline in my vids on them.
