Re: Heads-up, changes en route: Adding AudioNet’s engineering-marvel Humboldt to the system

Thanks very much, Kuoppis and Drummer62.
I take your points about getting the most out of the source and voting with your wallet. Strong arguments!
    Many thanks again

    Congrats David, excellent choice!

I’m certain you will be enjoying it a lots. For my part the Humboldt has probably been the most satisfying audio purchase in a long time.

Now it’s “Prop Up The Valium…” until the big day .

Re: Heads-up, changes en route: Adding AudioNet’s engineering-marvel Humboldt to the system

Congrats on the Humboldt purchases. I've owned the Stern / Heisenberg combination for a while and think is incredible. From what I heard of the Humboldt at Munich, it's much the same. I would add to the previous comments that the sound is very "saturated" and as such, very different from the somewhat dry Audionet sound of other models (although I owned and liked the MAX power amps). It is also a very dynamic sound - even at low volumes, it demands your attention. The low noise floor and lack of any harshness means, though, that it never becomes tiring.

Has anyone seen The Absolute Sound review of the Humboldt?

Yes, both the preview and the later review. Key parts have also been quoted in the thread.

    Both are rather positive .
