Yes, the turntable above has the Italian style; flair and grace.

This is an Italian manufacturer who appears to make some nice gear but yet to see or hear it is why I held back.

I only recently heard of Gold Note, and visited their web site. Their phono stage with optional LPS is what caught my eye.

I have heard the next lower model, the Giglio. It is pretty good. Very well balanced. Musical.

    Re: Goldnote Mediterraneo

I own the Bryston TT, which is basically a Gold Note with Bryston electronics. I would consider a mediterraneo for it's beauty alone! The only gripe I have with mine - and this is something that may not be an issue for most people - is that if you play records with the dust cover on then you need to keep cartridge weight to not much more than 9 grams lest the counterweight bonk the cover at the end of the side. I personally find this to be an annoying quirk, though I should add that I do NOT have a problem with my Quintet black. It comes close tho. On the positive side, it sounds great and the Gold Note people are extremely accessible and always helpful.

Analog: Bryston BLP1, Ortofon Quintet Black, customized Tavish Adagio phono pre. AudioSensibility Statement interconnects. Rythmik Audio 15-inch sub. Other stuff: Sequerra Met 7's (original) Met 7 MK. II, REL Q108, Berning ea-230's, Micro Seiki BL51 with Grace and Rega arms. Too much else to list, I am gonna leave a heck of a pile of stuff when I die.
