Yes, Audionet doesn't find a lot of love on this forum but the sound of their amps is really awesome!

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
I'm a fan of their stuff too. They are very neutral, high resolution and low in distortion.
Not for everyone of course.
Compared to the stuff Switzerland(Soulution, CH, Dartzeel) Audionet is a value.
I'm sure the flagship stuff (like this integrated ) is on another level than what I've previously heard.

its the machine i am dreaming about. hope you enjoy it.
any coments very welcome!
the connectors of your cables matches the connectors of the amp perfectly. what brand is the xlr?
is the humbolt available in the high format too?
and, while too early, how does it compare to the vitus sia 030?
lol, cant belive it you got both of them.

Great sounding amp. Heard it at Munich. Completely unlike the sterile stuff they used to make.

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
I've currently got the Stern / Heisenberg on extended home demo and think they are incredible. In my system, I prefer them over CH L1 + M1.1 monos - makes listening to music much more of an event.
I heard the Humbolt at Munich this year, and thought very good. Suspect it will get very close to the Stern / Humbolt pairing with the different being the outright power.

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
Take it as read they do detail etc as per other high-end amps, but a few things are standout. First and foremost is the low noise floor, which I suspect is a big driver of the other aspects that are noteworthy, namely sound-staging and jump-factor.
Soundstaging is about the best I've heard, not only in front to back and width, but in the air and defined space around each instrument / voice etc.
The jump factor is what keeps me engaged in the music and is why I prefer them to CH etc. The dynamics are incredible, and suspect the outright power available is also a factor in terms of outright grip.
Tonally these are the best SS amps I've heard, to the point where you may not pick them as SS in blind testing.
The final aspect which is noteworthy is how unstressed these amps sound. You can listen full-on for long periods with no stress, strain or fatigue, even on music and instruments you'd normally expect to, e.g. piano.
One observation - I think the Heisenbergs are the star of the show here. The Stern pre is good (arguably better than a CH L1), but think the power amps make the pairing world-class.

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
strongly mouthwatering, thx for your review.
just sold my nagra classic amp.....
so, are you going to buy them? i would if i could, more power is more power.
as for the humboldt, yes i think pairing with a more efficient speaker is key to not loose too much performance compared to the heisenbergs.
just saw these new zellaton evo speakers
https://www.facebook.com/zellaton.de...type=3&theater
92db efficience, 40k euro, (said to be better than theyr 120k reference speaker), could be a good fit and if a find a trade-in deal with my current speakers i might do it blind

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
yes, its a black-friday story and yes it will be my own pleasure to give impressions.
should get here next week or so. well, it replaces the nagra classic amp and as for preamp the internal pre of the dac, thats all i will be able to compare against.
the system was very good sounding at lower volume, then again the amp has not enough power. its only 10 watts class a and above i found it to fall apart soundwise. some other people find the power enough. one good thing about nagra, very easy to resell.
and the internal pre was not meant for long term in any case.
the original plan was to add the classic pre and one more classic amp. then i saw the humboldt and thought its the better and cheaper solution, also no need to add 2 powercords, 1 interconnect, racks etc.

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
yes truly an opportunity, truly nice i think
then again, i am not sure right now wheter i am on the right path.
i am alone! i mean i have no amplifier at the moment. no music.
i ve sold the nagra classic amp. for much less money then when i bought it after just 3 years. the only amp my wife likes from the look. it sounded great.
my tunetots are not meant to play great scale dynamic and in my office and i cant play very loud anyway because it bothers others. however when i did, i found the separation in the sound not good. adding the classic pre would have improved the sound enough overall i think. for my application in any case. everything from the same designer, well tuned to each other and worldwide known to be great. i dont need more than great. i had big hi end systems and sold everthing because i got something like an allergic when i see big hi end systems. i liked these small nagra boxes. i became a sissy over the years
well i also sold the handsome finite rack and the stands. everything is in a mess.
i wanted to change to a stenheihm alumin 3 or 5 because they are handsome and actually the designer uses excactely that nagra line up and its perfect. very very great looking and a complete swiss system.
i realise i am a total stupid looser, however, i cant go back.
i guess neither can i defend that black german monster coming to the door anytime soon. with the ask to pay tax. will i be able to do that unseen? what day excactely do i have to be faster at the door than my wife? what time? before or after christmas?
well, since i cant go back, btw the classic amp was sold to germany, and the buyer was strongly eyeing the rest of my equipement and wants to buy it, all he nagra and odins. should i sell it? the end of nagra owning.
saw the t+a sd 3100hv streamer-dac. another german monster box. its again 1 box vs 3 small boxes with more cables (streamer, dac, ps).
and very later than the zellaton evo,
so an all german big box system. back in the living room.
i have fallen off the track. black friday

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
yes thx, good input. going stenheim is still an option. i do know theyr nr.5. excellent!
i really like all the zellaton speakers, apart from the fact that they do not enough bass. the new model is designed differently, the bass is no more open baffle and with bigger woofers. i think they are utterly good. somebody i know ordered them and i can have a listening in a couple of weeks.

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
yes, there are shops for every brand very close around.
yg seems to pair great. i do think the humboldt will pair great with most of speakers.
then again yg haileys sensivity is 87db and i do look for speakers with 90db+ as i really want the amp to have an easy drive
shortlist at the moment:
zellaton evo, 93db
wilson daw, 91db
stenheim alumine3 93db

Enjoy!
I have now purchased the Stern / Heisenberg, and my friend has got the Humboldt on home demo. There may be an outside chance of comparing back to back in the same system which would be interesting!

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
What I can say so far,
Full resolution, instruments as pure as they are, bass performance better than krell600/krell evo2.....overall things depend on everything else than the amp itself. The record and the rest of the system. The Humboldt seems to be dead neutral and displays everything.the krell combo with piega line source speaker was different, everything sounded big and great.
The nagra classic amp with a little less bandwith sounded a little fuller on the wilsons and I felt a bit more connected. Then again I sold the finite reference rack and also the nordost interconect, so circumstances are worse now and I can't rate that influence. Meanwhile I upgraded the nagra source and the Humboldt shows really the difference. Good recordings are spectactular.
To be honest, I can't really rate this amp. It is time for a bigger speaker again, need a rack again and another good interconect.
The tunetot have only 87db sensivity and I can use nearly the full power from the humboldt, till the diplay says +6db
Right now in Marbella for the next few weeks, so no further break in. However, when i go back home i plan to sell the whole system and go for stern heisenberg and build a system around it. Power seems to be the Humboldts only limit.
For the price and overall it is an incredible machine.
One more thing, I had one in silver for a few days and then the black one. I much prefer the black

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
The tots (i like that new name) did really well with the humboldts power.
Very good control over the speaker at high volume.
With the nagra classic amp thing have fallen apart at half of the volume compared

Re: Audionet Humboldt integrated
ciao angelo, com e bello e benvenuto!
sorry, havent seen your question until now.
i would say about 700 hours.
the first 2-300 hours the stage is as small as a coin and then it takes some more time to open up more. when you think it is broken in you get a surprise later on that there is even more: the midrange beauty.
at least that is how it was in my case and the 700 hours are very subjective. i didnt count and maybe it was much less.
what speakers are you using it with?
please come back and report how it goes!
