    Re: Fyne 704’s

The High Gloss Walnut is such a nice finish. Awesome lineup.

The only MFG flaw I have found so far, and you can see it in the pics here, is that they used glue that turns light brown when dry and not black. Around the Tweeter on the Mid Driver, and around the Dust Cap on the Woofer you can see it.

Shame you didn't have a pair of 502s in the middle

    Re: Fyne 704’s

The 704s may be the sweet spot in the 'Fyne line'.

I say this although I have never heard them, but given the staff at Fyne has such a strong & predictable reputation, I'd be shocked to hear of the 704s as a step backwards.

Of course, this opinion is also based on my 703s.

My 703s have a very high ME (Musical Engagement) Factor.

I think you might be right. My only concern is that the 704's "displacement" might result in my personal "displacement" (WAF)....

    Re: Fyne 704’s

A good friend just received a pair of the 704s a couple weeks ago and received a great buying experience with Mike at Suncoast.

I had the pleasure of hearing these in the first few hours of play day 1 and while they will benefit from thorough break-in, their incredible
potential and abilities as a great speaker were immediately obvious. The killer price further seals the deal that this is one of the great
speaker performers out there at a bargain price.

I heard the top F-series Fyne speakers in Munich 2019 and was incredibly pleased and impressed with them. The 704 also has an equally beautiful
cabinet in the Walnut finish, great build quality, the bottom plinth for egress of bass from the bottom-ported enclosure (all of that strikes me as a brilliant
design choice by Fyne) but adds the 2nd front-firing driver for even better bass resolution and extent.

704 sound, imaging, etc...: amazing and worth MANY times its price. Good top-line cables bring out even more and break-in is something I'm eagerly
waiting for to complete as there will be another listening session soon when that occurs at his place.

    Re: Fyne 704’s

I would have to think that with this much radiating surface and the concentric design they would be extraordinary for large scale orchestral works, and quite dynamic for rock and pop. Very interested, but they are visually imposing to consider working into a main living area.

Everything from the 502SPs and up are fabulous in their own way. My 502s are smoothing out nicely and my ears are breaking in too.

    Re: Fyne 704’s

    Hello,

I am very excited the Fyne 704's are coming to my local dealer any day now.

Think I said before on this form the most exciting speakers I have heard in long time were the F1o's.

I have spent quite some time in the past listening to the F 8's.
Very impressive but I really think e704's are the ones to hear.

If I had known the Fyne's were coming to the USA when I purchased my speakers,
I might have purchased the 704's.

Can not wait to hear them

    Re: Fyne 704’s

    Hello,

    The 704's have finally arrived.

I first heard them with a Linn integrated amplifier.
They sounded quite good to say the least.

Then they were hooked up to a VTL amplifier.

SQ is simply breathtaking and amazing.
The best I have ever heard in the shop other than the F 10's.

    The 704's are large beasts.
They sound amazing top to bottom.
But I just can not get their mid range out of my head.
    For such large driver,
did not think the mids would sound so good.

    They are simply glorious.

These are quite truly amazing speakers.

But they are to big for my room.
The 703's would be better option for me an dothers with smaller rooms.

I m not really in a position to purchase new speakers.
But these speakers really must be heard.

The 501SP's are currently breaking in.
Looking forward to hearing these next.

    I must say,

I just cant get the Fyne 704's out of my head.

You should be quite surprised at what the 502SPs can do for a box and drivers that size. Let us know what you think once you hear them.

    Re: Fyne 704’s

I notice that the Fyne 704's are missing from the list of Fyne speakers in the latest TAS issue. Perhaps simply because they are new (although they have been available since before the issue went to press), but it's also interesting how many manufacturers (including some with speakers recently recommended by TAS) were missing.

I think I have heard the 502Sp's in the past but it has been some time.
But I do remember they sounded quite good especially at that most fair price.

The 501 SPS's seem to be what is breaking in now at the shop.

There is system hooked up now with VTL MB 450 mono amplifiers and the F 8's.
Am trying to get up there before they leave.

I have also heard others comment that the 704's are a very good price for such an incredible pair of loudspeakers.

    Re: Fyne 704’s

    Hello ShadoFax,

I found out today that the Fyne's that were breaking in are in fact the 702SP's and not the 701's.
As I was walking into the shop a pair of 702SP's were actually just being taken out the door for customer.
The other pair is still breaking in.
    Yes,
I have heard these in the past and was quite impressed.
Looking forward to hearing them again.

I think these are the sweet spot in the line along with the 703's.

I had gone up there to hear the VTL MB 450 amplifiers with the F 8's.

    Quite simply amazing!
Some of the best SQ I have ever heard.
These amps and the pre amplifier sounds incredible with these speakers.
    I left in tears.

The 704 system is getting a VTL TL 5.5 pre amplifier next.
Looking forward to hearing this combination.

Just heard the 704's with Krell electronics which I last heard on the 502SP's.

The 704's had the VTL's on it the last time i heard them.

I was stunned by what I heard!

Listened shortly, very shortly, to Metallica played close to ear shattering levels.

Absolutely no distortion whatsoever and very musical sounding.

The closest I got to this before was from hearing this on large refrigerator sized and looking Hertz Audio speakers from Mark Levinson.
They sounded very dynamic and sure could play very loud but not musical and natural sounding as the Fyne's.

These 704's are quite simply amazing loud speakers especially at that price.

    Enjoy

    Hello,

I just returned from hearing the 704's again.

Just when I thought things could not get any better,

a Chord Dave and M Scaler were just installed in the system.

    Quite simple amazing!

The sound was excellent before but this just make it over the top.

Sound stage opened up even further, more depth and instruments sound even more real and life like.

    Vocals were also improved.

I was stunned by the improvement.

    This is not subtle.

    Quite amazing!

Just heard the 703's again the other day with VTL pre amp and amplifier.

Was in a different room than the speakers.

I had goosebumps which lead to tears.

    Truly amazing speakers!

How do the F704's sound and how do they compare with similar priced speakers? Can they be used in large rooms?

Hi Shane - the 704’s are equally as good or better than speakers costing the same. They are DESIGNED for LARGE rooms. They are beasts. Big sound, big bass, but smoooooooooth and dynamic. I wouldn’t play them in anything less than 20 x 25 (on average). They can really fill a room and aren’t fussy with treatments. Oh, and the Fyne’s love vinyl.

Meant to ask you, any thoughts on the new SME 60? Looks pretty sweet to me.

Any Bodhi sightings in the land down under?

    Thanks Mike.

I saw a pair in one of the local shops I never go into - They were a LOT bigger than I thought any Fynes were and they looked really cool. I must go back and have a listen as I had just been to the dentist.

Big room filling sound is what I like. Is the sweet spot small due to the concentric tweeter/mid and can they rock and rock loud?. My room is 20 wide by almost 23 long.

I have a dream that they would be just as good as my big Wilsons, of course with a slightly different sound. I could buy these 704's and sell my Wilsons and probably make money as any Wilson upgrade is now stupid $$ with their pricing. not sure how realistic that is thou

I soft of like the looks and function of the SME 60, however I think they may have looked better with straight lines rather than the cut out scoop in between the suspension towers.

Bodhi LOL. haven't had the pleasure , but I don't hang around rubber rooms often

I just spent some more time with the 703's.
Drove up during an extreme heat wave we were having to hear the top of the line EAT Turntable and tonearm with a Koetsu cartridge.

Another wonderful experience hearing these Most Fine Speakers.

I have not listened to Vinyl in some time.

Was quite simply blown away by the SQ.

The new owner of this turntable has 704's.
This will be n absolutely amazing system.

I am truly blessed to hear this system and will never forget this.

One of the best sounds I have ever heard.

it blends a 300mm IsoFlare point source driver and 300mm multi-fibre bass driver into a twin cavity tuned cabinet with a BassTrax LF diffuser integrated into the down firing port.

Just returned from hearing the 703's again.
The shop just got in brand new VTL monoblocks.I have heard these very Fine speakers before on the older version of these amps and was stunned.
The Fynes sounded even better today and the 704's are currently burning in.
They are going to sound absolutely amazing.

I left the shop very emotionally moved.
I also like Krell Amps on these speakers but it is bit different sound than the VTL's.
