If I knew how to delete them I would.
But I know just how to ignore them without one once of sweat (just don't go back in the past...May 12).
Moving on is my middle name.

I feel happy now, very very very happy. I was simply mentioning to see if it's me who was crazy or everyone else.

Something cool is coming up next Tuesday ... on 4K for the 1st time ...

    Re: Forum Update

    Issue was:

keduhanh0t was a spammer user but he posted spams not into forum messages but as visitor messages. He posted them around 40-50 members' profiles on May 12.

These posts were only visible if you go to these members profiles and see visitor messages sections.

They were also visible in ACTIVITY STREAM if you go back until may 12.

I deleted these posts and banned keduhanh0t

Please give me some details about this dual post issue. For instance in this last post you deleted, how did you send it in the first place?
Tapatalk or browser? Computer or mobile device? How did you write the reply: Via QUICK REPLY box or GO ADVANCED? What exactly happened when you clicked send? For instance Browser hang and you clicked send again? No issue occured, everything was fast and ok but you got double post?

When somebody has a double post issue, I appreciate if you can describe all the story of that post so that I can try to track down the issue.

Don't know if it's related to the new server, but when I try to edit a post it shows only a blank form.

I tried on Chrome and Safari and the behavior is the same.

I guess it's a good incentive to write the right thing but it would still be convenient to be able to edit.

    Regards,
    Bernard

This mostly happens to me now. I know I remember seeing it a year or so ago but it happens now almost all the time.

    1. You write a post and you click "Post Quick Reply"
    2. It takes a long time to happen, and often a message appears...Cancel or Leave
(So yes the browser is stalling somehow ... annoyingly)
    3. And finally when the post registers (after 30 seconds or so) you see two of the same post.
    4. You "Edit" the second post by deleting everything in it and write "Delete"; because there is no option to normal Deleting posts.
    5. I use Chrome browser. I never use a phone to post, ever. That's me.

    * Next time I will time how long the browser takes while it's stalling. But it's roughly 30 seconds on long stalls. And, I will take a screenshot of that grey rectangle with a message giving us two options: Cancel or Leave. It is the only website from the Internet where I've seen this here...I think, as far as I can remember.

** I'm not sweating it because I'm used to each website on how they operate and the philosophy and financial support behind. I have the greatest respect for Mike as we share common experience on another website plus he's a generous man (I know that for a fact). Plus he's a fair man with everyone and do his best to accommodate everyone. To me he's a real gentleman and it's not some minor glitches in the AS website that's going to make my life sweat the small stuff. And he said it straight up too. That I like and we're on the same wavelength.

But now that you are asking me I will do my very top best to describe exactly the situation with the double posting ... to be continued in a short time. And thank you for asking. I'm here to help you helping us.

Lucky me; only 12 seconds to post my last one (#60) without double post.
But, I did have to click on "Post Quick Reply" twice.

EDIT: And this one went perfectly.

Is it every post or a specific post? For instance can't you edit THIS post above I'm quoting?

Also try this: Right click EDIT POST and click OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB (for chrome). For the post above this should take you in this URL:
    https://www.audioshark.org/editpost....70&do=editpost

How does that load for you? Blank or fine?

I had tried to edit 3 posts and faced the same issue.

For this one, surprisingly, I was able to edit.

Edit:... I tried to edit another recent post and it worked too. So maybe it's fixed.

This is not related to update. This usually happens when the cookie in your browser somehow got corrupted. There are 2 solutions :

1- You can use another browser (eg. if you use chrome, try logging in with firefox).

2- You need to delete the cookie in your browser. How you do that is different according to your operating system and browser so its not easy to describe here but you can google like "delete cookies manually in firefox v57 windows 7 professional"

BTW. cookies are set in the device you use, so if you use another device, the problem will also go away. Eg. if you cant login with your chrome browser in your desktop computer at work, chrome browser in your laptop will NOT be effected by this issue.

    Test

Edit: It took 15 seconds to post this, but no double post this time.
And, I had to click on "Post Quick Reply" twice.

So yes, Chrome (browser) was stalling (small blue circle turming).
I have zero issue with editing.

    @Logician ...

Earlier today I experienced another double post; and my Chrome browser was stalling.
The only way to get out of the stall was to choose one of those two options ...
That message screen appears roughly after 25 seconds or so (it varies roughly between 20 and 30 secs).

    Re: Forum Update

I thought the problem with edition of posts was fixed, but I faced it again yesterday.

It seems to only occur when trying to edit long posts though, it works fine with posts of a few lines.

I have not been able to determine the number of characters beyond which it occurs, but it's somewhere between 7 and 20 lines of text. It seems pretty consistent.

When trying to edit a long post, the editing forms is empty.

    Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Bernard

The funny thing with editing is that sometimes it shows an empty post.
Anything you type will automatically delete whatever was there but appeared invisible.
    Lol

    * Stay safe, make tons of music (money too), and get some stimulus if you lost your job.
If you are retired you are good to go, meaning you're rich but also most vulnerable. So listen to a lot of music @ home and be happy to stay distant from others (minimum 2 meters, and best to stay in the water...bathtub, swimming pool with chlorine, or fresh water lake, or salt ocean water ... in the summer). Fresh air is good, music is good, vitamin D, healthy food, diet, natural flavors, outdoors, healthy exercise...fishing, camping, canoing, paddling, golfing and chess (brain exercise for the mental equilibrium).

    • Stay the distance
    • Sanitize your hands with soap
    • Respect ... Wear a mask

This world is the one we built for our grand grandchildren...be proud of what we're leaving them ... our hi-fi stereo sound systems with all our albums ... Madonna, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, John Coltrane and Ozzy Osbourne. They'll most likely put all that stuff on eBay and stick with their iPods. With the money they'll be able to buy hires music downloads, and poutines.

    [Activity Sream] -> [What's New?]
... @ the bottom left after scrolling to the bottom ... [More Activity] doesn't work anymore for me...today it has broken. No big deal I just use another avenue ... [New Posts]

I'm only mentioning as it is new from today; I just noticed it earlier and after few tries and just now again I can positively confirm that it is broken (for me).

    * When you click on [More Activity] it brings me back to the top page, instead of showing the next past 30 activities (posts). This is the first time that it happens from my recollection of the past seven years.

Not sure what is going on now.

Up to 2 days ago I used to be able to cut and paste text and pictures - eg just spinning from another forum - now the picture comes up blank with IMG ??
You go in and add a picture and its the size of a small stamp - so you cannot see it.

Starting today, every time I look at this site I get a full page ad. I have to kill it to see the groups. Is this something new, or another computer virus?

Keep an eye on your computer. Someone is sneaking in and doing stuff that you don't even know about. I have heard of folks doing this. They have funny names like google and facebook, but i also heard there are others.

When you attach the photo via url it ends up being smaller than a postage stamp? have a look on vinyl spinning for an example.

How do you make it post full size like before?

    Re: Forum Update

It was a feature actually. When you add a photo via url, site was making an attachment and displaying its thumbnail which can be clicked to see the bigger photo.

The reason for this is, a full sized large photo can make the page unreadable for visitors who are browsing the thread with a small screen device (like cell phone).

But I disabled this feature for now. So when you add photos with via url, it will display full size.

    Thanks for removing it.

It was even easier before when you could just copy and paste photos from another web site.
I have a samsung phone and do not have any issues having the photos too large. looks a lot better on laptop obviously.

The thumbnail imo is more of a problem as to view it, you must click on it, then wait for too long. Guess what, moving forward nobody really opens the thumbnails as the are a bit of a pita so the web site is not as enjoyable as before.
Seeing nice large photos of hifi and music is one of the joys of the hifi web sites without having to press another button. It would be a shame to remove that.

Steve Hoffman web site is great as you can see wonderful large photos easily on phone and laptop.

    Cheers

I come here for the quality audiophile music and also for the latest on audio gear porn ... all good entertaining fun...and even more so during these changing times in the world.

I like also non related audio topics...movies, photography, sports, arts, new technologies and the exploration of space and beyond.

Here @ Audioshark it is what it is...diversification of its members and versatility in their audio passions for their music genres and sound reproduction...both analog and digital.

What is the most important thing in life? Health.
And next? What you make of it...among good sound, good music, good people, good sharing, good respect, good fun, good time, good everything anytime ...

Life's too short to be sweating the small stuff, like ...

    ...And good humor too.

I don't own a phone, iPad, or Tablet that can utilize any App or have internet on it, just my trusty 14 y/o Motorola Razer, so all my internet browsing is done on a PC.

For now buttons removed from "Quick reply box" to solve double post issue.
