    Focal Maestro Utopia EVO

I started my journey to upgrade speakers and found this site on Tapatalk. I’ve been a long time listener to my Avantgarde Duo’s and wanted to take a look at other speakers. Many great ideas and systems talked about here so taking what I learned, I was able to narrow down my speakers.

I travel often so was able to visit several audiophile shop’s and listen to different speakers and found the Maestro’s to fit my listening style better.

I have a pair of Maestro EVO’s being shipped and estimated to arrive this Thursday.

    My system will consist of:

    ~ Maestro EVO’s
    ~ Mark Levinson 5805 Amp
    ~ Lumin S1
~ Synology 10 TB Hard Drive
    ~ Interconnects: Nordost Tyre 2, 1 meter
~ Speaker Cables: Cardas 2.5 meter Clear Beyond

Pretty excited to get the speakers setup..........I’m opened to any comments and suggestions. Thanks.

    George

    I listened to Magico’s S5’s 2, S3’s 2, A3. Also to Wilson’s Sasha DAW, Focal Sopra 2 and 3, Focal Scala EVO, B&W 802 and 800 D3, Martin Logan 15A all using the same CD.

Of all the speaker’s Maestro EVO just worked for me. Of the speakers I list above the Wilson’s and Magico’s were all at different dealers the others were played on same electronics and pairings.

I left out a couple Sonus Faber’s, listened to Il cremonese and Stradivari. Workmanship on these speakers are incredible.

I dumped my Wilson Shasha DAW's and stepped up the the Focal Maestro Utopia EVO. What a marvelous improvement!
The Focals are so much more detailed, so much more texture, imaging is holographic, the bottom end with the two 11" woofers is tight, articulated and punchy. The realism produced with the Maestros is super realism and always impressive. Also, Focal build quality is amazingly good. Even the shipping crates were superior. The Maestro are mounted on swivel wheels so it is a one person task to remove the speakers from the massive wood crates and roll them around to where you want. There is NO assembly needed. They are pure luxury and enjoyment!

Congrats on a beautiful pair of Maestros! Your description of the sound resonating from them is spot on..........Currently driving mine with a Luxman 590 but hopefully, someday in the new future a pair of Luxman 900's will be sitting next to them.

    Re: Focal Maestro Utopia EVO

I have found that speaker placement is very important with the Maestro Utopia EVO speakers.
I suggest owners should patiently adjust speaker location and then audition. I used some green tape to mark locations for reference. You will be rewarded with major improvements when you locate the 'sweet spot.'
