    Re: Esoteric Grandioso T1

While a system with a clock will sound good and play satisfying music as soon as the clock reaches equilibrium (stabilized), I would still suggest, as do all clock manufacturers that I'm aware of, to minimally use the PRE-HEAT function on the G1X, which Esoteric thought enough of the idea from their research to create it, or better yet, leave the clock on.

I would never drool over a turntable, but I might over Grandioso T1. I'd never buy it. Not to I diminish the elegance and mastery of the crafting of its being. I'm more interested in the other stuff on their rack.

I drool over most of Accuphase and Luxman offerings but for some reason not Esoteric even though the built quality seem to be out of this world! Where Accuphase might be too traditional, Esoteric I found a bit too "spatialship"...

Watching this video made me appreciate the design though even If I don't find it "good looking" per see.

This Esoteric turntable or the new Nagra?

The Esoteric. My hunch is that this is an AF/Kronos, pretty much everything killer. I want one in the worst way.

the Nagra is more than twice the money ($175k verses $75k for the Esoteric) and comes with it's own dedicated tonearm, and even if you go to the trouble to somehow change tonearms, you can only use one. with the Esoteric you can use up to 3 tonearms. of your choice. maybe the fit and finish is comparable, i have great respect for Nagra build quality. i'm sure the Nagra is special sounding and a wonderful turntable. sure looks classy.

as far as technology advances certainly the Esoteric is much more advanced in many ways. the clock addition (+$27k) to the Esoteric is a game changer for turntable drive design. the Esoteric is a much more compact so easier to live with.

    either turntable is crazy good.

i love my Esoteric T1 w/clock. still waiting for my arm boards to arrive so i can mount my other tonearms.

the owner of that T1 (who's PS is pictured) visited me last month.

a power supply is what it is. Esoteric has a standard 'Grandioso' chassis width and style. the extra space inside the chassis is not for lack of execution for the product.

Agreed,...just needs a high quality linear regulated power supply for each connection.

In this video starting at 00:02:48.00, there is a good look at the external power supply for the Esoteric Grandioso C1X preamp as well as the primary chassis of the C1X as well.

Like the Grandioso P1, P1X and K1X, there is a lot more in those power supply units!

It leads me to wonder what sacrifices were made with C1X solo to make all the C1X bits fit in a single chassis.
