Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Good grief. Another box left at my front door for me to trip over. This is becoming an expensive habit.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Everest has arrived in good order.
First impression. On the numbers alone I'm disappointed.
Inlet noise = 1800 mV (day)
Everest outlet noise = 1650 mV.
It's no better than the PS Audio power plant at reducing noise on the AC line.Speakers: Magico M3, ACC, S-SUB | Electronics: Esoteric Grandioso stack | Amplification: Halcro |

You are making me want to try a subscription to compare to my Tidal. But when I check articles comparing the two, they all claim (by the numbers) Tidal has significantly more songs.
Have you tried Tidal to be able to compare? Yeah, I had the free Tidal trial. It didn't float my boat. The Spotify experience was better.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
My system overhaul is complete and everything is up and playing again.
I've made a quantum leap in my Spotify performance. The PS3 (my Spotify source) was connected to the wall socket with a kettle cord. Now it's connected to Denali 6000/S v1 with a PS Audio AC-3 power cord. Oh yeah baby, Spotify premium sounds almost as good as my Esoteric N-01! I had my Grandioso transport spinning some CD's as part of my re-wiring functional checks...but I've switched that off and have reverted to Spotify on the PS3 for an afternoon listening session.
Baking hot in Perth today, EMI noise on the output of the Denali is 1850 mV. The highest I have seen. Shunyata need to design and build an isolation transformer contraption to solve that problem.Speakers: Magico M3, ACC, S-SUB | Electronics: Esoteric Grandioso stack | Amplification: Halcro |

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
I reconfigured the mounting arrangement for the Stewart electriciscreen over the past few days and it's back up mounted to the ceiling (the screen fell from the ceiling 6 months ago and it's been swinging in the breeze since then). As I suspected the screen is stuffed. Wavy lines all across the screen surface. I'll have to replace it. Ouch, those screens are expensive.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Had I been able to audition the Everest at home I wouldn't have bought it. The Denali didn't bring much to the party either, I should have heeded the Denali observation and headed in a different power direction. That's the way it goes sometimes. But I'll give it a few more days. In hindsight, the Everest investment was probably better directed elsewhere. Maybe Altaira SG, or I'm leaning towards the Grandioso C1X pre-amp. I'd like to have the full Esoteric Grandioso set.

Noise at Everest input = 1650mV
Noise at Everest output = 1200mV
From what I am seeing Everest can't do what a lowly Venom 14 can do.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
A bit lower readings then the Denali, but not a spectacular difference.
The Venom 14 is specialy designed for that issue, but it seams that they are only available in the USA, the Dutch importer does not have them.
My dealer had a few Venom 12 powercords, I checked them with the EMI meter, they did nothing worthwhile for the readings, also tried them in my utility cabinet (Router etc.) but there was no SQ gain compared to my own cables.
In general it is still a difficult topic, I have no idea what this EMI meter is exactly measuring, on some forums they have been discussed and rendered useless(because you don't see what exactly the problem is), but for me there is a correlation (in my system) between sound quality and the readings on this device, when the readings are in the low 20's or below my sytem is "addictive", when the readings are higher upto 150mv it's becoming more Hifi then "high end".
Your readings are much higher, would not like to experience what such high readings would do to my system. Maybe there is a component in my system that is more susceptible. I am pretty sure the high EMI readings will not go down by giving the everest hours to play, offcourse there might be a SQ change.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
I'm seeing slightly better numbers today (inlet>outlet).
Everest: 1800>1080mV
PS Audio power plant: 1800>1360mV
Denali v1 (HC outlet): 1360>1410mV.
The noise on the outlet of the Denali is slightly higher than the input. The Everest is better at reducing AC line noise than "perfect" PS Audio regenerated power.Speakers: Magico M3, ACC, S-SUB | Electronics: Esoteric Grandioso stack | Amplification: Halcro |

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Hi Brodric,
The Everest is giving you significant noise reduction, that is quite an improvement. But your starting number is extremely high. Is that a dedicated line? My dedicated line is typically around 50 mV according to my Alpha Labs Line EMI Meter. Your Denali V1 sounds broken. I would plug everything in the Everest if you can. It will also provide better grounding for your system with this approach.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
I have Gigawatt power cable and G-16A circuit breaker on order to put the Audio Replas on a dedicated line. But a dedicated line will not reduce AC noise. That noise is riding the power arriving at the house.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Hi Brodric,
Maybe you should consider a two step noise reduction process. In my opinion, 1800 mV is way too high to be arriving at the input of the Everest. My friend Vince at MSB Technology would sometimes get that level of noise at the wall outlet when he was presenting at an audio show. But you have to be careful not to impede current delivery. Best of luck on your quest for clean power.

Delivery day has arrived!
For me the revelation was when I first got Denali V1 tower model. Later I replaced it with Everest, which certainly improves further. Your experience is vastly different. I never measured my AC line noise though. Maybe I should.
1800mV noise is eye popping. That is 1.8V swing.

Forget about your "measurements"....
Does the system sound better, different, or worse, or not a significant enough of an improvement to justify the investment?

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Hi Brodric,
I thought about your problem and came up with a potential solution to further reduce your system’s noise level. If it were me, and I had that level of noise coming out of my dedicated outlet, I would purchase a Shunyata Typhon T2 and connect it to my dedicated outlet via a Shunyata power cord. Then I would purchase the Shunyata umbilical and run that from the Typhon T2 to the Everest. Then I would plug all my components into the Everest. This will produce an extra level of noise reduction for your system, not limit current, keep your power conditioning all Shunyata and minimize extra costs on wasted banks of outlets. Furthermore, it is designed for this specific purpose.
Best,

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
I've just taken the following EMI noise measurements (day time, bright sun).
PS Audio power plant
Inlet = 1850 mV.
HC = 1760 mV (non-regenerated)
Z1 = 1670 mV (regenerated)
Z2 = 1670 mV (regenerated)
Z3 = 1670 mV (regenerated)
Z4 = 1670 mV (regenerated)
This suggests to me all the regenerated zones are tied together directly.
Shunyata Denali 6000S/v1
Inlet = 1670 mV
Z1 = 1740 mV
Z2 = 1720 mV
HC = 1700 mV
The Denali outlets all measure a higher noise output than input.
Everest 8000
Inlet = 1850 mV
Z1 = 1540 mV
Z2 = 1410 mV
Z4 = 1270 mV
I'm contemplating the PlixiR BAC 3000 Pre-conditioner. This will connect to the wall socket and provide isolated balanced power to the Everest/power amps and Denali/source components.Speakers: Magico M3, ACC, S-SUB | Electronics: Esoteric Grandioso stack | Amplification: Halcro |

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Hi Brodric,
The Typhon T2 in conjunction with your Everest will not entirely eliminate your noise issue but it should make a material further improvement. I think it’s important to keep the power conditioning all Shunyata to not limit current and to maintain consistent sound quality.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Instead of continuing to cycle through power products based on and designed for the US/Canadian electrical delivery system have you considered just trying products designed for the 220 volt system. While they may not have the "name recognition' they might actually work better for your situation. Puritan and Gigawatt are just a couple that come to mind. Surely there are companies in your part of the world that make power products.

And you thought the same thing about the Power Plants. They were all designed in and for the US and adapted to other markets and the Torus units are the same way. A Canadian company whose products are also sold under the Bryston label.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
That's right. PS Audio didn't put much thought into the original Australian version power plants. They couldn't handle our reverse Coriolis Southern hemispherical electricity. From what I understand PS Audio eventually changed to higher specification power transistors that were more tolerant of our coal generated southern hemispherical electricity.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Have to say I expected better from the Shunyata Everest, but before buying anything else I would get an electrician that is willing to do a full analysis of your power supply, that way you can ask some focused questions to potential suppliers.
The plixir might work, but I think their specs are peak values, there are other brands that spec continues values.Moon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
The last electrician I had here put his foot through the ceiling. He then did a runner leaving a few junction boxes in the roof space uncovered. It cost me $800 to repair and repaint the ceiling. I'm not sure what an electrician can tell me that I don't already know. I know what the voltage swings and THD% distortion is (they are data logged 24/7). It's simple single phase point-to-point TPS wiring. I know what the EMI noise is and where it's coming from. Apart from that?

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
sounds like you have it all figured out, but to really know whats happening on your powersupply, a Fluke power analyser (or something simular) is required to make clear where/what the distortions are. another way is to keep throwing money at the problem till a good result comes along.
Sorry for the bit harsh comments, I am just trying to helpMoon 700i V2, YG Acoustics Hailey, Aurender N10, dCS Rossini, Oppo BDP103D (audiopraise board), Ansuz Mainz 8 D2

Something weird is happening.....I'm playing this track on Spotify....

If I didn't know any better I'd swear the Grandioso transport is spinning the CD. But it's not. This is 320 streaming at its finest. And on a PS3 no less (powered by Everest).
Day 5 with the Everest. Puma Cat may have been about right about that.

Re: Delivery day has arrived!
Yeah, he insisted on being paid before he left. He ignored me after that when I chased him about the ceiling repair. I should have just claimed on my insurance and left them to deal with it. The whole ceiling gets painted after the repair, 2 coats. Not just the repaired bit. In the end I couldn't be bothered. The junction boxes in my roof space still need to be closed up.
