We added the EMM Labs DV2 to the store today because the DV2 already has the upgrade which is coming to the DA2 and it offers VC (for direct to amp). Out of the box, the DV2 is real step up from even a fully broken in DA2. I’m hearing more depth, a real real sweet sweetness. It needs to break in and open up a bit, but if this is the sonic upgrade coming to the DA2, I can’t imagine people not being very happy.

Congrats Mike! Liked my MA-1 when I had it, but that’s of course not the same level.

Using any special power cord with it, Mike?
On mine I'm trying both the Purist Audio Design - Diamond Dominus and the High Fidelity PRO Helix power cords.

EMM offering upgrades to existing DA2? What's price of the upgrade?

Sounded very good direct into the M900u’s. I would have no issue with the VC on the DV2, especially if you’re digital only. Volume goes to 100 and 54 was comfortable, so lots of gain still available. The system noise floor did seem quieter, but I like the instrument shaping, slight bloom and richness from the C900u.

Appreciate it Mike, the DV2 looks to be a very interesting top notch alternative.

Personally, I do like a good pre in-between - in my main system at least, for phono.

It's weird that all the upgrades seem to focus on the USB input. The EMM NS1 that was just released a few months ago doesn't have a USB out.

Nevertheless, I'm upgrading. The DA2 is the best DAC I've ever heard in my room.

I just love my combo!

compared ns1 to dcs bridge... now I’m with a big smile...even on a Rossini system NS1 presented higher resolution, better dynamics, well resolved bass, and overall was just more lifelike .. image.jpg
 
We have the same combo in the store and I agree, the NS1 takes the DV2 to the next level.
