My DIY speakers (for my HT system)
I built the cabinets 15 years ago but never got around to completing the project 'till a few days ago.
These speakers employ Dayton Reference 7" paper cone woofers and Dayton Reference 1.25" silk dome tweeters. The crossover is a simple 2nd order and the boxes are just under 1 cu.ft. and vented. The finish is just Tremclad Textured spray paint, (the lazy man's alternative to a lot of sanding, etc.).
The picture show the speakers in my main stereo system but they are destined for my HT setup.

Hi Bill, good to see you.
The cabinets took 15 years but how old ar the drivers? LOL I'd hate to see them disintegrate once finally done.

Re: My DIY speakers (for my HT system)
Hello, Mr P,
I haven't been logged in here for months but it's nice to be back.
Only the cabinets are old, the drivers are brand new. The cabinets were originally constructed for different drivers than the Dayton they ended up with. Some tedious fitting was necessary to accommodate the Daytons. It might have been almost as easy to build new cabinets from scratch, but I was determined to use the old having kept them all that time.
The results, as mentioned, are doing good duty in my home theater system. They are better as fronts than the Paradigm Mini Monitor V3's they replaced.~ Bill
