    Excellent!

I’m thinking about trying a DIY amp myself but need to practice my soldering skills.

    Well done!

Thank you. I will. I’ve had the itch for a long time. I see how Nelson Pass is such a huge resource for the DIY community as well as a brilliant designer, I respect him more and more every day.

I have only built one of Nelsons' creations , the 6 wpc amp camp kit . Easy to build and single ended class A. I have also built a few Transcendent Sound kits , Easy to build and OTL designs . Kits and diy is a lot of fun .

    Congrats, looks good.
DIY is very rewarding and is by far (IMO) the best "bang for the buck" in audio.
Over the years I have built Speakers, turntables, (many) tube power amps, pre-amps, DAC, power cables, interconnects, speaker cables, power conditioners, racks and stands.
It's fun for me and challenges my skills, while forcing me to learn new ones.
Keep up the good work and ENJOY the results.

    Re: My DIY gear

Just finished a M2x monoblock pair. Absolutely the best DIY that I have used in my system. I have a DIY Aleph J, DIY push pull EL34 amp from AudioNoteKits (hum with sensitive speakers).

i was prompted to re-enter DIY by the Covid shutdown, and the fact that one of the McIntosh MC60 amps started making zappy noises, and blowing fuses. (It’s about 1 year since they were professionally restored).

The M2x is special, both in sound, and due to the fact that it uses modular input boards. It’s running the Mountain View boards right now, but I’m still working on the others.

This the first amp(s) that gave me front to back layering of sound stage, not just side to side.
    Amplification : Modwright LS300 - Atma-Sphere "Class D" monoblocks
Digital : MSB Premier DAC+Digital Director, Oppo 203, Sonos Port (W4S mod)
    Analog : Technics SL1200G, Boulder 508
Speakers : Daedalus Audio Muse Studio
    Headphone : BHSE + Voce
