    Klipsch LaScala Speakers

I picked these up a few years ago in pretty rough shape, the good part is the price was right!

Fast forward a few years (read this as five years, I’m too busy doing other peoples stuff to get my own done), I have stuffed them with all of the Crites upgrades and spent just a little time on modding and veneering the cabs.

A close up of the motor boards.

And one more just because they match the garage table so well!

Damn good! They are just in the garage system until I get some extra family (small children) out of my house, I took advantage of their stay to finish the LaScalas, a couple of more weeks and they go back on the main system.

Great job on the speakers. I've always wanted a pair of LaScala or Belles. Crites Cornscalas look pretty nice as well.

Thanks Rob, I finished that Camaro a couple of years back, sold it, and put this little jewel together.

    Rob and Mel,

You guys are putting us to shame. You are both so talented. I am not worthy.

That veneer just sets those off.
Nicest pair I have seen (they were made in my home state).

Are those KG's in the floor?
I would have guessed 1.2's or 1.5's but they look a little wider in the pic.

    You ever "Fly" the 1's?

I have had a pair for alooooong time and used the internal anchors a couple of years ago for the first time, to hang them from the ceiling with a 5 degree down firing angle (this is in a small shop).
Been there every since, really becomes a different speaker depending on room size.
With the tweeters being on the bottom when using the factory anchors.

I am going to mod the crossovers as soon as I get all the components together, the electro caps are getting a little aged, I can't wait to hear some Clarity Caps in their place.

Sorry about that, for some reason I saw kg 1.5's in your post and even typed 1's?

    Coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

I did a little speaker shuffle here in order to finish the LaScala’s, I took the Heresy’s out of the garage system and put them on the main system and put the KG 1’s in the garage system, they normally reside in the office system on a pretty high shelf firing down at an angle, I had never considered turning them upside down, it is a brilliant idea I may just try it in the next day or two!
