Jazzman MkIII Electrostatic Speaker
Hi all,
Below is the finest loudspeaker I've ever built, and I'm happy to share it here.
I also have an extensive how-to website for building this type of speaker, and my drawings and parts lists are available to anyone crazy enough to attempt it, at no charge :-)
Enjoy!

Re: Jazzman MkIII Electrostatic Speaker
Very cool and congrats on a job well done. The spaced wire stators in your design are reminiscent of Audiostatic 'stats from the Netherlands, circa early '90s.

Re: Jazzman MkIII Electrostatic Speaker
Yes, I've seen those. Also; there is an active DIY electrostatic speaker club in the Netherlands.
I find it interesting that most DIY ESL builders in the US use perf metal stators (probably because they are so much easier to build), whereas the Dutch builders use wire stators almost exclusively, and most are full-range designs with exotic hand-wound transformers. The Dutch group's speakers are far advanced with their electronics but I've not seen any that were symmetrically segmented for wide dispersion, like mine.
