D'Agostino preampli ?!
D'Agostino preampli ?!
Hallo,
I use Pass Xa100.8 in my system. At today the preampli is a Pass Xp20.
I can replace the Pass Xp20 with a D'Agostino preampli.
What do you think from this combo D'Agostino preampli - Pass ampli?
Thank you for your feedback!
Greetings

Re: D'Agostino preampli ?!
I think the D'Agostino pre-amp is one of the best available pre-amps especially when paired with Dan's amps. I also believe that system synergy is important. Unless you plan on replacing your XP20 with a Momentum stereo or mono blocks I would stick with the XP20 or move to the XP30.

Re: D'Agostino preampli ?!
The D'Agostino preamp is excellent.
But let me ask, if you have Pass XA100.8 amps, have you considered the XS preamp? My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: D'Agostino preampli ?!
Hi,
thank you for reply.
synergy !!! this the key!!
The Xp30 will be a good preampli? versus the Xp20 give me a "sound improvement" or only a piece "extra" on my rack?
The XS pre is much more expensive from the D'Agostino. if I have possibility to have a XS at the same price of the Dag sure the XS will be my choice.
A Dag in black (I love this color on the Dag product!) NEW, all original import paper,...... I pay a great pre with a very very big discount! for the Pass XS is not the same....
I had too Audio Research in my mind. ARC_Pass_Wilson is sure a good combo with synergy......more from Xs30?!?!
ARC Ref Anniversary, REF10 or too the little SP20!!! the REF5se is better from the SP20 but next year with go have a new "REF6".....
I can too do so: Dagostino pre and Xa100.8. i sell my Pass Xa and I replay they with a Dag stereo! -> Dag stereo is at the level of the Pass Xa100.8????
This year I have changed speaker, ampli, cables,....FOR ME a lot of $$$$.

Re: D'Agostino preampli ?!
Hi Omar,
In my opinion, the XP-30 is a significant improvement over the XP-20 in every way. Smoother, quieter and more musical, it is a game changer and has HUGE synergy with the XA-100.8's. I had the XP-30/XA-100.8 combo and the sound quality was wonderful with my Revel Salon 2's. So why did I sell? Two reasons, the first is I decided I wanted to move to Raidho D3's and the Soulution 520/501 combo was a much better synergistic match for the D3's than the XP-30/XA-100.8 combo. The second reason was heat. The XA-100.8's produced an uncomfortable amount of heat in my listening room and the Soulution 501's run significantly cooler.
All the best,

Re: D'Agostino preampli ?!
Hallo Ken,
the Pass combo ith the Wilson Sahsa2 sound good. I dont can say that I'm not happy...
Heat "point": yeh, class A sound great but after 5-6 hr. the ampli (and the room) is hot. not so unbearable but sure is not a D class Ice power ....
a full system pre Dag and ampli stereo or the Constellation new Inspiration serie pre 1.0 and stereo 1.0 (or the mono 1.0) can be a very great improvement and this 2 combo are great for Wilson speaker and too with a Raidho or Magico.....( looking to the future....new speaker.....)
Next week I go listen the Insperation serie with Wilson/Magico and Raidho speakers....
The Pass are new and I have to think about what to do..... a new premapli is the sympli way....a VTL 6.5 can be a too a great solution.
Ken you have listen the Constellation gears with the Raidho?
thank you for reply.
Greets Omar
