    Wit or Witowski

We recently got a new place close by me that is becoming famous. Last month they were featured on Diners Driveins and Dives and then again on local news where they had a Pajama Party to collect donated pajamas for children with Cancer at a local Hospital.

The famous sandwich is the Wit or Witowski

    From the menu

    "Wit Or Witowski"
Port Richmond take on a classic Philly cheesesteak: locally sourced, chipped kielbasa piled high on a long roll, slathered in caramelized sweet onions & dripping "wit" american cheese sauce

I was unsure what to expect only ever having Kielbasa as a sausage log. Well let me tell you, this was just awesome and delicious. The fries and beers were also good.

If you ever get anywhere near the 2 locations and want to try something new, highly recommended for the sandwich experience.

Mama’s at Belmont and Levering Mill Rd. in Bala Cynwyd is the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Went to Penn undergrad and we’d drive out there at least once week. Superb! But this kielbasa things looks interesting!

It is called Gaul & Co Malt House

The original is in Port Richmond on Gaul Street. One just opened closer to me in Rockledge.

Again, it's all about the roll, those of us that have lived in SE Pa long enough have their preferred favorite. Either Amaroso Bakery or Conshohocken bakery.
    Cheers ! …. Dave

I am unsure Dave. It seemed a little softer than Amoroso but was indeed awesome.

Haven't been into Philly since COVID as I live in West Chester, but that picture certainly has me thinking it's worth the trip.

Rockledge, Huntingdon Pike, is just outside of Philly next door to Fox Chase and just down the road from where I am in Southampton Bucks County and continuing straight takes you to New Hope and Lambertville.
