A good price for a 98 scored wine (<$50 on sale).

The 2012 Quilceda Creek cab goes for ~$190 if you can find it, with some shops asking much more. It is an amazing example of a great wine.

The 2010 vintage in France, Italy, and western USA was outstanding, and I like Brunello. I would think that a 2010 could benefit from a long nap, or decant for even 24+ hours. I expect the tannins are pretty sharp at this young age. I find some wines fall apart if vacuum corked and refrigerated after opening, but some get better after a few days like that. Matches what I heard from the owner of Yamhill Vineyards here in Oregon recently - he said pour a small glass and set aside. Taste a little every day, if it is better after after a couple days it reflects how many years it would benefit from cellaring.

By the way, if you like Pinot, the 2012 vintage from Oregon is off the hook, with several 100 point wines currently available. I'm learning to like Pinot, but it is a long lesson.

Oh yeah, I do love Bordeaux wines! It is really something that you can find some great Bordeaux wines from small producers for less than $20. If I am looking for something very pleasing for not too much $$, left bank blends from 2010 offer great values. And I posted above, they can often be opened, vacuum corked, and refridgerated for several days - and actually get better! (Its nice to open a bottle mid-week that you don't finish and find it is still very good a couple days later. I know some will say WHAT? What do you mean you didn't finish it!)

I also had 2010 Qelcida Creek and 1991 Dominus over the weekend.. You have great taste in wine, sir..
