I like the design, but the price for a premium plus player that can't play SACDs is a non-starter for me.

The link says:

The company tells us that “correctly implemented upsampling eliminates the need for conventional, steep-slope analogue filtering altogether.”

It's advertised as being special, but this is standard practice. My Berkeley Alpha DAC 2 did that, and so does my Yggdrasil Analog 2 DAC.
