So there is this rumor that the MC2301s may discontinue. Well, purchased another set. So here is the awesome part. My retailer gave me full credit "yes, penny for penny" refund on the my original MC275s towards the MC2301s.

[FONT=verdana, geneva, lucida, lucida grande, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]I can't even begin to describe how much I love the tube sound. Huge fan of these beasts. And yes, they are major beasts. I forgot how heavy and what pain it is to unpack them. But so worth it.

Fantastic congrats! I have 3. I sometimes think about getting another. I use the 3rd to drive a centre channel.

It's running hot ATM, so looking like a tube roll is in order. I use an Amplitrex AT1000 to check my tubes.

Seems like the MC2301 discontinuance is just an internet rumor. It would be a travesty. Probably one of the best amplifiers ever made in the history of HiFi.

Congratulations Golucid, I fell in love with my Strads when they were playing through a pair of MC2301's. I still think about getting a pair.

Always possible that they might make a larger edition, more tubes and more weight. Are not the top end MC's in the 2 and 4 hundred pound category? But, I would suppose a refresh would hinge on demand too.

I love em!

I think we've all read/heard on good authority the MC2301 is going to be discontinued this summer. There is hope. There will be replacements and they could be announced as soon as the Munich show.

So exciting to see what's next for McIntosh. I and everyone else had no clue on the MC75's and C22 II coming. I am happy for McIntosh and their fans, of which I am one.
