A special year end deal for anyone who purchases a T1 before the end of the year.

Purchase a T1 and get a free L1 ($1200 value).

The T1 is the A1 in a less expensive metal case.

PM me if you might be interested.

Does the T1 (or other units) handle all types of DSD? I am pleased with Sooloos but I lack the ability to play any DSD I might find to download. So this could be an way to add DSD capabilities to my system with the T1 and a L1 just to store those files. Is that correct?

Jim

Does one need an L1 to work with a T1 or can you use an existing NAS?

You can definitely use an existing NAS - that's how they are designed - Synology or QNAP recommended.

Jim, the T1 (which is the A1 in a metal case - instead of aluminum) can handle DSD. The S1 ("S" standing for "Statement") can handle DSD and DSDx2.

The A1/T1 is "warm/analog" sounding. The S1 is "sweet" sounding with better bass control.

So one would have to go to the S1 to avail themselves of all high rez files currently available?

Yes. But Jim, to be honest, double DSD (let alone DSDx4) has almost no recordings. I would suggest you go by sonic characteristics listed above instead since both do DSD.

What are the costs for the S1/A1/T1?

$12,500 MSRP - S1
$7200 MSRP - A1
$5000 MSRP - T1

Of course, Sharks receive special pricing. ;)

The inclusion of the L1 with the T1 and two L1's with the S1 make these crazy good deals.

Again, T1/A1 if you want warm, analog sound. S1 if you want sweeter, more separation, better bass control.

I have both the A1 and S1 and find them very system dependent as to which is "better".

However I think you will see more and more 2X and 4X DSD. I think that Opus 3 and Blue Coast (?) are doing 2X DSD.

And don't forget - purchasing an S1 before the end of the year gets you TWO L1's.
