They'll keep me busy while I have the NFL draft on in the background. First thing I noticed was that the Burson unit requires a driver download for my player if I'm to use USB - impossible to do with my Aurender. I had planned on a CAPS unit - as the headphones will go bedside - but this forces me to act sooner. For now, my laptop will do.

I have very little experience with high end headphones so this will be fun.

Cool addition to the family. Congratulations!

Keep us updated. I'm not a big headphone guy but I do see a need.

Thanks Joe. The headphones are for casual bedside listening when I'm too lazy to walk down to the basement. I'm thinking internet streams, etc...

Will post an update once they break-in and decide on a source.

I like to try the Conductor. I think the Beyer A1 pairs very well with the T1 too.

So here is a quick update after a little over a week of near 24/7 running. I'm hearing very good detail but experience fatigue after 20-30 minutes at moderate listening levels. There is an edginess that is, for me, unpleasant. While the bass has improved over the past week, it is still quite tame (perhaps something common in most higher end cans). Having had very little experience I cannot point to either the headamp or headphones as the initial culprit at this time.

This is my first foray into headphones and I'm sure things will change with another week or so of running. I'm running a generic USB cable from my Mac at the moment so there is some tweaking to be done. Will post as things progress...have my fingers crossed ;)

Let us know how it goes bud!!

OK they've been running for just a day shy of two weeks now and I can't detect the glare that bothered me so much in the beginning of the week. In fact, I've been listening for the past 45 minutes and am experiencing zero fatigue (imagine that). Detail is great. It's weird, in some respects it's more revealing of subtle nuances than my two-channel but it also hides some things as well. On Diana Krall's Love Scene's "I don't stand a ghost of a chance with you," for instance, it always bothered me how the engineer turns Krall's mic on and off throughout the recording to compensate for her mic's background hiss. It's unnoticeable through the T1/Burson combo. What I wanted in a headphone system was "enough" detail and accuracy but not too much so as to casually be able to listen to all formats (MP3s, internet streams, etc...) comfortably. While I don't have any experience with other systems/brands, I'm pretty happy with how the T1 and Burson are sounding at the moment. Heck, I'm still running the generic USB cable. Thanks for steering me straight Jeff.

All is well now...did have an "oh s*** I made a mistake" moment but it has resolved itself nicely as the hours have packed on.
