Try this one JAX

Just curious what that violent video has to do with nice acoustic guitar work

Well...the thread is titled "Try This One Jax"; I wanted him to try that one as well ;)

As for the video; disturbing, yes. I was actually listening to the song...and kind of peeked up in the middle; and I was like "what the hell"??

But...if you watch it; it's a little vignette...about 2 siblings, sold into child-slavery. Who escape, grow up...and exact some gruesome revenge on their captures (a vigilante vignette, you might say)

Hey...I like the song; but it's not a message I'm entirely uncomfortable with.

BTW...and I'm not trying to be a jerk here; but I am a bit of a guitar aficionado (as I know Jax is)...and I don't think that guy is anything special, at all.

OK...it's "nice"; but why is he so good. You can see technique like that, from a million guys on YouTube, and thousands playing for the hat (there's a reason they call it Busking). Is it "good", because he's alone...sitting on a stool; and it sounds good on a HiFi?

Now...say what you want about the music; but this guy, has technique! ;)

Not bad, but nothing Hughie Thomson from The Outlaws didn't do 40 years ago

I posted this a few years ago, but new members may enjoy it. This is Christoph Godin from Morglbl who can play anything and shreds better than most. This first clip is comedy.

This one is more serious and demos several techniques

Well, first; thanks for not taking a piss on my comments. 2nd...I don't think they were hammering 40 years ago; but I get your point.

Actually, one of the things I like about John 5; is he is kind of a throwback player. He's actually more renown, in Country circles...than Metal; I get the impression, Metal pays the bills.

and I guarantee you, they weren't doing some of this stuff...40 years ago ;)

For the record; it's not like he's my favorite player or anything. He's one of them; I mean...I like all the biggies, the ones on everybody's list. But I tend to like guys, who play creatively...outside the box:

Adrian Belew
Steve Howe
Steve Vai
Tom Morello

Prince! But you can't find any of his good solos on the Net, because he blocks all his shite :(
