I get complaints from time to time about people who write a long post, go to click "submit" and the thread is lost because they get kicked out of the system.

This happens because of cookie problem in your browser. You must set up your browsers to accept cookies, otherwise the site logs you off after some time.

However, when this happens, you can revive the message you lost IF you haven't attempted to write another message afterwards. All you need to do is to go to the same messaging interface you lost the message and then click the "RESTORE AUTO-SAVED CONTENT" link.

It's not too often I write a long post but when I do I have learned to copy it (in OSX command+C) before saving it, then it is available to paste (command+V) in case I was too slow in typing.

I have been saved many times by "Restore Autosaved Content".

IOS Safari has a tendency to page reload when you are task or tab switching. That button makes all the difference to recover and submit a post rather than just give up. That button has saved me from bending the wretched iPad in half and chucking it in the rubbish bin.

I wish I could ditch the iPad Mini altogether but there are some exclusive apps that I am still dependant upon. Eg. Drone software.

The Restore Autosaved Content button is the best feature of this forum.
