Clint Eastwood listens to records at his home in 1959.

Cool picture, and does not look
like any worry with vibration and cable management or record care - agh, the simpler times.

I wonder what the gear is and how it sounded?

Eastwood is a known jazz aficionado. In fact, he has at times requested that the character he is playing be a jazz lover. The movie In the Line of Fire is an example.

In 1988 Eastwood directed and produced the biopic 'Bird' the story of the great jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker. The same year he was executive producer of Thelonious Monk, Straight No Chaser, a documentary on Monk. FWIW, I have a safety master of the original Straight No Chaser album. My safety master has the longer versions of the works and three additional songs which were assembled for the 1996 CD reissue of the original (75 minutes on three tapes) versus the original 51 minute LP from 1967.
