Hi, still looking for a new / well used pair of speakers, to replace my WA sasha mk1, talking to a dealer a few days ago, and they were saying that the new marten speakers are something else, especially with the new dimond tweeter upgrade, anyone here have any time with marten speakers, thanks andy especially the quintet dimond,

I only had an audition of Marten at a show, the $100k model. I didn't like them at all, I can only imagine a diamond tweeter to increase the pain.

If you like Wilson stick with them. If you are not happy why keep them on your list.

I am a fan of Wilson Audio, started with Shasha 2 and now using Alexia 2. Wilson Audio does not use Diamond tweeters in their speakers. However, that does not bother me at all, I care the overall sound quality, not what the componets are made of.

Hi, the dimond upgrade, Parker Quintet can be upgraded to Diamond Edition, featuring a pure Diamond tweeter, Jorma Statement internal cables, more advanced crossover components and improved terminals. this is about a £10k upgrade, which takes them up to £37k, Wilson are on my list and i would have been happy, to buy blind a pair of DAW's, knowing they would give me more of what i like, but as i said, a couple of dealers really like Marten, against the wilsons, could be the £10k hike on the wilsons by the time they get over here to the UK,
thanks for your comments

Yep, the price of DAWs is crazy outside the USA.
They sound fabulous, though. Maybe a demo pair will fall into our laps? Would be sensational with the Humboldt.

Hi, yes your right, a good price in the USA, i don't know what the import tax on this kind of thing is, but i'm thinking it's more to do with the distributor putting a huge chunk on it , than anything else, they were going for £23,500, but i don't want black, there is a pair for sale Gilford audio, but he want's £29,000, full brand new price in the usa, used price in UK, sea green, not paying that, put an offer in , and got declined, they have been for sale over 6 months or more, will put another offer in, cheers andy will let you know what happens, last time he did say he will not go lower than that, what i i got to loose,

Greystoke4 - Given the price premium of Wilson’s in Europe, you may also want to consider the Kharma DB-9S. That’s a wonderful speaker that may be more reasonably priced locally. I like them quite a bit and, for reference, I’m a former owner of Wilson Alexias.

If I could get DAWs for $46K AUD, I'd take them in anything! Black, green, orange, polka dots or stripes!

yes...23.500,-- you should have bought them what color ever.
that said, alexia2 would make you more happy. i had them with the humboldt and it was an excellent pairing. there might be some good offers in a couple of monthes when the new alexia gets released.
