Hello from California,
The Revelation Pictor and the Taurus are really exceptional.
We have the Inspiration, the Revelation and the Performance and have done extensive listening with them. We got our Pictor (with DC Filter) andTaurus two weeks ago and now have 3 happy customers that decided this is what they have been waiting for.
The Inspiration is an excellent amp, but the Taurus is closer to the Centaur II then it is to the Inspiration. The Taurus starts to get in the realm of magical with the realism of instruments (Miles Davis - Frelon Brun), the discrete spacial presentation of small sounds (Alt-J - In Cold Blood), the sound stage (Beck - The Golden Age) and the overall presentation.
We ran Magico S3mkii, S5mkii, Sopra No.2, and Magico M3 speakers, and it was wonderful with them all.
In an A/B with the Centaur II, the Centuar II is much more of everything good about the Taurus (as it should be for twice the price), but I am really thrilled with how the Taurus preforms. For me, and a couple of our clients, it is a sweet spot in price and performance. It really moves up into this magical place that adds an extremely emotional impact to the listening experience.
The Pictor is wonderful on it's own, but even better with the DC filter.
One small note: The Taurus amp has a C19 plug on it, so if you are currently running a Shunyata Sigma C15 (like we were) it will not plug into your new amp.
If you are in the Bay Area and would like to listen first hand, feel free to reach out to me.
thanks,
Noah
