Constellation Revelation Series
At Axpona last weekend, Constellation debuted their new Revelation Series. I have to say, it sounded very impressive.
Did anyone else get a listen? (It was in the room with the Martin Logan ESL15 and new Continuum table).

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
Curious to hear how this new line compares to the Inspiration and Performance lines. Never heard the Inspiration amps but they were well-reviewed.

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
Hello from California,
The Revelation Pictor and the Taurus are really exceptional.
We have the Inspiration, the Revelation and the Performance and have done extensive listening with them. We got our Pictor (with DC Filter) andTaurus two weeks ago and now have 3 happy customers that decided this is what they have been waiting for.
The Inspiration is an excellent amp, but the Taurus is closer to the Centaur II then it is to the Inspiration. The Taurus starts to get in the realm of magical with the realism of instruments (Miles Davis - Frelon Brun), the discrete spacial presentation of small sounds (Alt-J - In Cold Blood), the sound stage (Beck - The Golden Age) and the overall presentation.
We ran Magico S3mkii, S5mkii, Sopra No.2, and Magico M3 speakers, and it was wonderful with them all.
In an A/B with the Centaur II, the Centuar II is much more of everything good about the Taurus (as it should be for twice the price), but I am really thrilled with how the Taurus preforms. For me, and a couple of our clients, it is a sweet spot in price and performance. It really moves up into this magical place that adds an extremely emotional impact to the listening experience.
The Pictor is wonderful on it's own, but even better with the DC filter.
One small note: The Taurus amp has a C19 plug on it, so if you are currently running a Shunyata Sigma C15 (like we were) it will not plug into your new amp.
If you are in the Bay Area and would like to listen first hand, feel free to reach out to me.
thanks,
Noah

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
Hi nonesup. Earlier I used the integrated preamp in my APL CD-player, so Pictor will also have a great deal to say here. In my opinion Taurus have more of everything. My dealer gave me a very good deal, so I bought it without testing it and I have not regrettet it since.
The improvement in the term of soundquality was clearly visible from the first time. My buddy was with me when my dealer installed the components and he told me that it have never been better sound in my home.
A little surprise was the fact that it used a 20 ampere plug, and not a standard 15.
So I think that you could not go wrong if you chouse to upgrade.

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
Hi.
Thanks for your information, it seems that Taurus brings more than just improvements in the Power Supply.
Unfortunately I am quite far from California, but I would love to hear the two amps with the same pre amplifier.Francisco

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
I see that finally the "dream team" of engineers ..... have placed posts for connectors, open 360 degrees and not the old ones that were tremendously unhelpful.

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
I heard a Pictor paired with an Inspiration 1.0 Stereo amp driving Magico S3 MkIIs with and without the Line Stage Gain Module at my local dealer's store. The Gain Module, at least when paired with the Constellation amp, was definitely worthwhile. I preferred the sound of this Constellation pairing to a first generation D'Ag Progression pre/amp pairing. If you acquired the Pictor, what amp would you pair it with?

Re: Constellation Revelation Series
At the moment I am struggling with changing my amps. I have Purifi based mono amps that have been transformational in my system. I have compared to all the other class D, REF 75 with KT150, Rogue ST100 and a Parasound A21, nothing top tier but all decent. I believe you are in Greensboro by your username, I moved to Ruffin last year and have a great listening room if you would like to come up and give your opinion.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
