    Show us your conrad-johnson gear

Must be a few cj owners out there.

Show us your lovely golden cj gear and any stories quick Joe, lets see yours again before they are gone .............. for now

GAT - owned cj since 1999 after buying the awesome premier 16, moved up through ART series 1 and ART series 3 and the GAT in 2011. Telefunken 6922's give the GAT a nice upgrade and Stillpoints are almost mandatory imo. Ultra's or 5's like i have under the GAT now.

The legendary premier 8A's - 275 watts of pure tube pleasure. Currently running KT120's. Bought a new pair in 1999 and sold a few years later in that never ending search for impossible audio perfection.
Back in 2009 I bought a used pair of prem8a's from non other than hifi reviewer Jack English - really nice guy as well and they were cheap. Jack actually dropped them off at cj so they could convert them to 240volts. cj were doing teflon upgrades of some of their older amps including the prem8a. Lew Johnson said they gave a nice improvement so bit the bullet. When I eventually received them downunder in Sydney, Lew in his always understated way was correct - but it was a substantial improvement in every way. Teflon cap upgrades for older gear, highly recommended

cj have the easiest biasing in the game - on the prem 8A, it even tells you what to do

Art 1 then upgraded to Art 2 before I sold it to get the Gat. Lucky guy in NY got it. Gat was just upgraded to Series 2. Premier 15 phono stage bought new in 1999 then had all upgrades a couple of years ago. Premier 8's also bought new in 1999 then had latest upgrade same as XV-1. Seen here driving Quad 2905's at the time. ET3SE is sitting by waiting for a chance to show its stuff. Classic 60SE not present for pictures. Love all of it!

Looks awesome Ted. Amazing we both bought prem8a's in 1999.

At some stage in the future I will look at upgrading to Gat series 2
